The other day I unintentionally stumbled on a subreddit page of people dying. I saw one video and was appalled. But something strange happened.

    I kept watching more...

    And more...

    And more...

    I didn't want to, but couldn't stop.

And it wasn't a pleasant feeling either. It was a sick, uneasy, sad feeling. It felt strange seeing someone with life in them one second and then have it forever extinguished the next.

Learning martial arts was always a powerful feeling. Knowing if an untrained person ever attacks you, you can demolish them. However, seeing a video of a dude dying easily during a simple fist fight, you realize how fragile life could me. You can easily kill someone with one strike or throw (or they could kill you), it makes me just wanna run like a bitch if I ever encounter someone, even if they're Peter Dinklage's size!

Why are people fascinated with this crap? Obviously there are tons of subscribers to the page so there is a HUGE audience for it.

    Why, because it desensitizes you?

yeah, and it is just not good for your soul. I dont know how you feel about yourself, but if you love yourself, you shouldnt expose yourself to bad things like that for no good reason. There is enough pain and death in the world as it is.

We’re so used to see people die on film that we’re desensitized to it. Yet people balled their eyes out during Hachi.

I'm glad you watched, even if by accident. Seeing stuff like that evolves your brain. Makes you look at life in a different way.

Disagree. Being sheltered from everything bad leaves you vulnerable.

The watch people die subreddit is one of my favorites, not sure what is so fascinating about it, but it just is. It also reminds me to look both ways before crossing the street.

Its weird, I've seen more people die than I can count. In more ways than I can count.

There is something cheap to me about people who watch it behind a monitor. It's a fucked up fascination with none of the realities associated with it.

ITs like the time I saw a girl eat 95 loads out of a dog bowl on the Internet.

I hated it but watched the entire thing.
