WHy are these boxers fighting so infrequently?

Mayweather fought twice in 3 years (if you count next May)

Bradly fought once this year and doesnt even have a fight

Ward fought once this year.


Should at least fight twice a year to maintain top 10 status

 

Oversized paychecks. Theres no reason for them to fight more often.

 

I think Ward has had a couple small injuries. May makes too much money. Bradley pulled out of a fight to jump on with top Rank, fought pac, then had to recover from injury.

 

Was looking forward to Ward/Pavlik

What this guy said. Guys fought more back in the day because more fights paid peanuts than they do now.

 

If you are bringing in 20 plus million per fight there's no need to fight 3 times a year

I don't think Ward is making that much

 

But he probably doesn't spend that much either

 

He's made over a mil in his last two fights for sure. Not sure about before that.
