Why are the Sherdog website and forums so buggy lately?

The site always bogs my browser right down when viewing the main site, and the forums (.net) servers are worse. My browsers are constantly loading, and I've had to disable shockwave as the script keeps jamming. What sort of background scripts are running?? This is happening on my laptop, my phone and my work PC, on different browsers with each (Chrome, Firefox and Explorer)...so I'm not writing it off as a browser compatibility or OS issue.

Surely others are complaining about this? It seemed to start after the forum overhaul, but it's noticeably a problem over the last few months. The shockwave plug in can't be the only buggy code, as disabling it has allowed me to actually write posts now, but the browser windows are CONSTANTLY loading still. It's like the Sherdog windows are running hardcore video rendering or something when I look at the resources they consume (up to 1 gig per browser sometimes).

Is this just me?

Sounds like a browser issue. Or possibly a problem with your operating system.

Have you checked your mcafree settings?

The main thing Ive noticed is posts Ive made dont show up on my pc at home but do show up on my phone browser.

It's buggy as hell. I've been using the mobile app exclusively since it came out. My desktop, and my laptop both are a pita to use here, no matter the browser or the settings. Now even the app is messing up, timing out, and today I started getting ads that hijack my phone and keep redirecting me.

You see people complaining in random posts about how they don't frequent the site much anymore because it's not user friendly. Frigging gremlins.

Edit: Facebook is insisting on making me a millionaire more and more. The redirects are getting more frequent.

Hey, appreciate the assistance. It's definitely a click-bait or spyware script with the advertising. Since I've been plat I don't have the bog down in processing on any device.

I'm from Australia, so it might be a dodgy advert script on the Aussie mirror. Don't trust all investors

The adds also hijack other browser tabs, because I was constantly getting the 'lucky google winner' pop up on my phone when looking at other sites, even without Sherdog open at the time. This was on the work phone where I only ever look at two sites, Sherdog and the secure intranet at work. It's definitely not the work servers.

Again, this has all stopped since the plats. So there's that!

Scrolling is much smoother, and I haven't had any redirects. The site also loads much faster ad well. I'll browse the site from home tonight and will see if it's the same across all platforms... and i expect that to be the case.

The problem with buggy scripts running in the background is it will limit the number of new users that will stay if the site is a pita to use. Us long time users aren't likely to leave, but the more traffic, the more revenue.

i had to come back to this thread bc figured it was the source of the green. thank you tachy <3
once my charger comes in for other computer ill see how the site runs on it. tho ive already found its been much more pleasant to use on mobile.

I use many computers to browse Sherdog (work and home) and all of them eventually bog down my internet surfing thanks to SD. As soon as I close SD, my surfing goes back to normal.
