Why are the new gen champs douchebags?

Remember back in the day when champs always wanted to prove themselves against the best, never refused to fight anyone, never looked for the "easy" win just to get a better looking record?

What happened with this mentality? Ronda, Conor, Tyron, Bisping etc. have all been ducking contenders and only cared about holding onto the belt. And now even DC(!), who most of the fans wanted to be succesful, is quickly turning into the same kind of doucebag?

Is this how MMA will be from now on? Or is it just a phase right now after the money Ronda/Conor was able to make? Thoughts?

Tyron is constantly bitching about everything but he defended the title 3 times against the number one contender. The fact that the fights sucked doesn't take away the fact that he accepted those fights against number one contenders.

Except for Cyborg, who wasn't in her weightclass, whom did Ronda duck? She literally had the best resume of anyone when it came to fighting ranked contenders. She even (in hindsight stupidly) chose to fight Nunes as her comeback fight when she could have easily chosen a warm up fight instead.

10 years ago guys fought and made crap money, today a big fight can earn them 250k or more. They are worried about getting injured and not being able to earn those checks. The UFC isn't helping much putting on 'money fights' and allowing the media circus to become match maker.

Ronda was ducking someone? That's something new, if you got like so many title fights like she I doubt it is even possible to duck anyone same with other multiple champions:
GSP,DJ, Silva,Jones, Aldo, Ronda, Joanna, Cruz,
Imo Tyron is cool, he defended against top contenders, and he will fight Till, not fan of this fight, but still Daren is ranked 2 or 3 in WW division. He is whiny and really boring lately,but you him ducking, nah not really.
