Why are some of you guys so hard on Holly Holm?

How could she possibly do worse than Alexis Davis? Or Sara McMann?

She is good enough to use footwork, establish a jab and keep Rousey away from her and force her into a striking match. Rousey doesn't explode with double leg takedowns and for that reason, Holm move without fear of leg attacks.

Obviously, she's a huge underdog and she'll probably lose, but she's much better than other women in the UFC. She could destroy the division outside of Rousey and I think she could at least provide Rousey a different type of fight.

Holm would probably beat either of them too. So I don't know why it's some kind of joke that she's a possible opponent for Ronda Rousey.

McMann and Davis actually have grappling skills and look what happened to them.

Holm has not shown any kind of ground game.

She won't be able to avoid the clinch, boxers get caught there all the time.

Also, like a lot prospect boxers she decided to pad her MMA record against cans.

I'd be pretty surprised if she managed to present any threat at all to Rousey.

I can't imagine she's be able to keep Ronda from clinching, and from what we've seen, that would be the ball game.

The cage is twice the size of a standard boxing ring, with no 90 degree corners. She will likely get clinched eventually, but it's not going to be a cakewalk.

Holms is a better athlete then Ronda IMO. Quicker feet, better lateral movement, and just solid technical foot work in general.

Also, Holme is a slow starter. You can't be a slow starter against R3.

Never has a male fighter been this overhyped based on beating such questionable opposition as 2-5, 8-10, and 6-7 fighters.

Better grapplers have gotten owned, mostly because they have shit striking. A good jab and footwork can shut down Rousey's game. She gets most of her takedown and clinches by running forward and throwing wild strikes to close the distance.

Obviously, she could still lose and probably would, but I don't see the logic behind her doing worse than the grapplers have done who lacked the striking to implement their games.

I just don't see how Holly can keep R3 off her. I'm not say she has bad footwork or striking but she's not going to get an early KO and R3 will catch her early in the fight, dump her on her head, and submit or TKO her.

It's not that we're down on Holm, she's great. Really awesome striking for sure. She just doesn't have the experience to prevent Ronda from throwing her on her head and armbarring her. Maybe Holm lands that big shot while Ronda gets close, it's possible, but I doubt it. Ronda's good enough on the feet to avoid getting knocked out long enough for her to grab Holly, and when she grabs her it's done.

I think the problem is that Ronda is so far ahead of everyone else it makes everyone look like shit by comparison.

A good jab and footwork can shutdown Ronda? How do you know that? Holm needs to beat a grappler first before I can consider that as a serious possibilty. Also Ronda hasn't had to prepare and gameplan for someone like Holly. She will make adjustments for sure.

LOL, the 8-10 fighter she beat was Jan Finney. She also lost to Cyborg, Liz Carmouche, Miesha Tate, Julie Kedzie, Shayna Bazler and pretty much every other top star in WMMA.

So? The girls you just listed moved on to fight legit competition. Holly just now decided to fight legit competition.

I assume that because of how Ronda gets takedowns. She moves forward and attacks with upper body takedowns.

This is why Gustafsson was also able to shut down Jones' takedown game as well.

This is a ridiculous response. Holm just got signed by the UFC. Before that she was acclimating to the sport and before that she was winning championships in boxing and competing in kickboxing.

Acting like there are all these top women outside the UFC, or better yet, THAT YOU KNOW WHO ANY OF THE TOP WOMEN OUTSIDE THE UFC EVEN ARE, is just ridiculous.

For all we know, she fought whoever was available.

They have other better wins while Jan after so many beatings is Holly's best win.

The point is that Holly hasn't proven anything against top fighters yet you already claim she would DESTROY THE REST OF THE DIVISION.
