Why are so many A level actors doing commercials?

Ive just noticed that a lot of A list actors have been doing commercials.

Isnt this frowned upon by A list actors? Dont they usually go to Japan to hawk some shit?

I get what you're saying, and it does seem like all of a sudden it's acceptable for A listers to do commercials.

They've really always done it, but usually it was like over in Japan or somewhere and most people here would never see it. That was mainly before the internet got so big though too.
