So when you have WMMA and more specifically someone like Ronda who is the most exciting MMA fighter currently fighting, it really shakes up their simple minds which causes them to lash out in fear and anger.

Let's face it, your average MMA fans aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. When things happen they don't understand, it frightens them and causes this sort of simpleton reaction.

A simple assumption, that may apply to a small percentage of the 'haters'.

As for the underlined part, personally I wanted to show the fight to some of my friends and colleagues. But after watching it over a few times, I decided against it, because both of them had such poor, sloppy striking, it felt like those unlicensed underground cage fights. While I'm sure it was exciting for Ronda fans and people who already know/like her, it was a terrible example of MMA to show to the casuals. The quality of competition just isn't there.

I think Ronda is an incredible talent and competitor. I respect her skills tremendously.

But she has brought in a huge rush of new fans, namely women. New fans aren't a bad thing but huge rushes of them around her fights tend to lead to some pretty bogus claims. It's like Lesnar fans during his run claiming him to be new breed, indestructible, A level athlete, etc.

I put Ronda's technical skills somewhere around Karo Parisyan level. She is good but only looks GREAT due to her abysmal competition. The hype train around her can be frustrating. Wading through pages of "Ronda GOAT, Most dominant athlete, Can beat [Insert Male]" threads around one of her fights gets tiring.

I'll add that it is also annoying to see people so uneducated about the sport hype her to the roof tops. Yes, she's an excellent fighter, but people take it to such an extreme that it's ludicrous when she is dominating a fairly shallow division. Her Judo skillset and ground game are obviously world class, and she has a lot of explosiveness and athleticism, especially for being a woman, but that's where it ends. She is not some godlike being and she could not beat Cain without a gun in her hands. So much of the criticism is backlash.

Bill Gates has produced many products of high quality that people use and enjoy using so they have no reason to resent his success. He has added products of value to the world; he's earned his money. What has Bieber contributed to society that makes the world a better place? Nothing! That's where the resentment comes in - not that he could have a lot of women. Bieber has the X factor that a lot of people like. That's why he is so popular and all of those "supposed" more deserving, bitter, "hipster musicians" are not popular. Bieber's music and concerts appeals and connects to more people and a wider range of people. He IS talented, whether you choose to admit it or not.

Bieber has contributed in terms of happiness to his fans. A shot of ecstasy (the feeling, not the drug) when his fans listen to his music. His music gets an emotional hit from his fans when they listen to him, watch him etc. You won't understand because YOU don't get "IT".

Gates is just the founder of Microsoft and has a huge team of programmers working for him. Young girls opening ms word or excel are not going to feel emotionally connected to that. Sorry to say.
