For a title shot at 185? People were complaining that Belfort was being 'cheated' out his shot to Lyoto Machida, but Belfort earned his title shot that Machida is now taking by beating Dan Henderson at 205.

So. Basically, this already happened, but people weren't bitching about it then. They also conveniently forget this when trying to take away from Machida's shot

Um, get with the the shady clusterfuck program. It is being fought at 185lbs apparently. And one of the participants in the bout didn't even know that, LOL/sigh. And only one of the participants gets title shot if he wins...apparently.

I don't think the UFC and lame fanboys really want to be talking about this embarrassment much right now. There's no need to get into too much detail or think deeply about it since the UFC hasn't.

Shill fans like you would've just accepted 'Cuz' from the sideshow UFC anyway. That's probably as far as they should have gone in explaining it.

People were already calling for a Vitor title shot before he crushed Henderson at LHW.

if one of the participants didn't even know, how could I be expected to?

This is nothing new. You've got Frankie Edgar dropping to a FW title shot off two (though competitive) losses, you've got Chael P. jumping up to fight Jones off a loss, Vitor getting a LHW shot on some 151 bs, but coming off a win at rumbleweight, and not to mention Vitor's second middleweight shot originally came from beating Hendo at 205

Oh and Vitor's first MW shot came off a win at Franklin weight

apparently weight classes have never applied to Vitor when trying to get shots

^^^Yeah, it's not your fault. And yes UFC title shots, how they are "earned" and now even the details behind the weight class of them don't really mean shit to the UFC. And even the UFC sadly get confused sometimes. So I guess the fanbase shouldn't care or take UFC titles and title shots too seriously either. Carano will be getting one off a movie role & not competing in MMA in years if she wants. WWE penis tattoo guy could get one quickly if he wanted also.

Nobody complained when Belfort got the 185 shot for beating Hendo at 205

This was not my point. Everyone is bitching and complaining that the winner would get a shot a different weight class, when that has happened on numerous occasions.

They want purity like the "good old pure days" when Vitor got title shots on catchweights and Randy got title shots on losing streaks.

Good point. Or when he beat Franklin at 195 in the "good old days".

I guess I can sort of understand the logic of it if they have the fight at 205. If Vitor wins another fight, after coming off TRT, and proves he's still a viable fighter, then his win streak warrants a shot at the title seeing as the majority of those wins were at 185. But, I can see why you would have it at 205, though no one seems to know where it will happen now, because Sonnen was signed on for Wandy at 185 and has been preparing for that weight, not dieting to make 185.

Because he signed to fight Wanderlei at 205, wasn't expecting to have to make 185 in a handful of weeks.

UFC = sports entertainment, always has been. Rankings/earning title shots matter when something more marketable to casual fans cant get signed.

Its true though, look at Lesnars title shot & the hw title seen back then. You had two hw title fights a month apart from each other & instead of the UFC giving us a 5 rnd unification fight between Couture vs the winner of Mir/Nog, we get Randy vs 1-1 or 2-1 depending on how you look at it Brock.
