Why are people calling Gus overrated?

Just because he lost to RUMBLE he is now a can and overrated? Rumble is a damn beast. I'm not even a Gus fan but come on this guy has shown his skills enough to be respected.

This is Sherdog, where once you lose one fight you're either a can or were ROBBED.
 
Because his best performance to date was a LOSS to JBJ.

Because he has one top 5 win?

Because people compare him to Cain, Aldo, and Floyd Mayweather all rolled in one?

He not an embarrassingly bad fighter but yes he seems to be quite a bit overrated.
 
no quality wins, and he was a -300 favorite over a guy who destroyed him completely.

= overated

not saying he's a scrub, but the word overated means you aren't as good as people think you are
 
because he was the #1 contender for years and has 1 top 10 win from several years ago.



also, he just lost so that happens here.
 
Because he lost. Thats the only reason and you should make a mental note of this so when it uappens again to another fighter, and believe me it will, you'll know why. Then you'll understand that this place is full of fickle fans that no matter what you'll never be able to change their minds. Once you look past them and make peace with the fact that they are who they are, you'll enjoy your time here more.

plenty of people were saying gus was overated before last nights results.
 
He was overrated by his nuthuggers but he's still a good fighter. Let's face some facts though. This was only his 2nd fight in almost one and half years since losing to Jones. He made his rep more off that loss than any of his wins.
 
He is not really overrated, at least when we count his nuthuggers out..

He matches very well with Jones, but has been a bit overrated to this sense due to his performance in this fight.
He has some flaws in his game like the fact that he relies on his chin too much and/or takes too many shots (imo)

But people saying he was overrated now, were probably the same who were saying Gus was better at everything than Rumble ( save power ) a day ago and that he was gonna run through him.
Typical sherdog, saying AG was overrated instead of praising the beast that is Rumble



ps : side note and serious question : When was the last time someone lost a non-controversial fight and wasn't immedialty overrated on this board afterward ???

that wasn't a choke, Rumble came with the right strategy and tactics to beat Gustafsson, and Gustafsson couldn't make the adjustment in his game, then Rumble overwhelmed him.

there was a poster on here who i first saw point it out, but he talked about Gustafsson being right hip dominant and that he never slips to his left because of this.

Johnson used his left high kick to deter Gustafsson from trying to duck to his right and caught Gustafsson a few times when Gustafsson attempted to try to slip and circle out.
