Why 213 is better than 214

  • Romero/Whitaker is a better fight than Jones/DC (although that fight I'll admit means more). DC has nothing for Jones though so I'm much more interested in Romero/Whitaker.
  • Nunes/Schevchenko are two of the best WMMA fighters in history while Cyborg is a juiced up can crusher fighting some disgusting chick named Tonya Evinger.
  • Reem vs Werdum is a fight between 2 of the most decorated heavyweights of all time. 214 by comparison has a snoozer/squash match between Woodley/Maia.
  • Pettis vs Miller is a fight between two of the most decorated and proven LW's in UFC history. I've never even heard of Volcan Odemier and Manuwa is not an elite fighter already having lost by KO to Gus and Rumble.
  • Curtis Blaydes is the next big thing at HW and one of the hottest prospects in the UFC taking on talented HW Daniel Omielenczheck. A much more interesting fight than one between Cerrone and Lawler, two washed up guys coming off KO losses.
Tldr: 213 has better matchups and better fights
 
Guaranteed 214 does at least triple the PPV sales of 213

edit: is it just me or did Jones get his Areolar glands removed since he can't take anti-estrogen pills anymore???
 
IMO Jones vs DC is the fight of the year, and the rest of the card being good is just bonus.

Also, it has more gravitas. Cyborg finally takes a shot at the UFC title, and Bones makes his much-anticipated return.

The fights in 213 may well end up being better, but I'm definitely more excited for 214.

UFC 213 - 21 Points
UFC 214 - 34 Points

I agree with you. I honestly don't give a fuck about Jon/DC, Cyborg will smash Tonya and Lawler KO's Donald.
 
Am I the only one not really excited for Cormier vs Jones?
 
Shevchenko x Nunes should be amazing. Haven't looked more forward to a fight in a while tbh.
 
Good points. Both are sick cards.
 
I like 213 but the Jones -- Cormier Grudge Match is what I'm looking forward to.
