Is it still the HW champ by default? Or can this title belong to challengers like Ngannou, Costa, Adesanya, Romero, Ferguson?

A year ago DC was hw champ, yet everyone knew Jones was superior.

So obviously no, the HW champ isn't the "baddest" by default.

I don't totally disagree with you about Jones possibly being the baddest, but even Jones admits that fighting DC at heavyweight would stack the odds more in DC's favor. That means that when DC was champ he very well could be considered the baddest man on the planet

I’d say Nathan Diaz is the baddest man on the plant. Don’t know many other tough guys that blaze regularly.

"Baddest" isn't a word. It's more like an attempt at a word by a three-year-old. If you're asking who the worst man on the planet is, it's probably some kind of mass-murdering child molester or something.

Jones was on steroids fighting at his optimal weight while DC was near 40, fighting clean, and not at his optimal weight.

HW DC is a different animal. Jones knows this and has stated that's why he's not fighting him at HW.

I doubt DC, even at the point where he was HW champ, considered himself the baddest man on the planet.

He very well knew Jones beat him twice.

Ngannou obviously. Not only he has the aura and instills fear just by his presence, he would also have a solid chance to KO Stipe or anybody else in the world in an MMA fight or no rules street fight.

Cool. So Jones is a natural LHW, and DC is a natural HW?

Yet Stipe outclassed him completely from bell to bell and showed him 0 fear lol...

Even traded punches with him and walked him down.

Stipe was mililmeters from getting KO'd on several occasions in early rounds,it's a hindsight bias now that Stipe dominates him.. Their another fight would be a toss up at least imo. And Francis has surely improved since then
