Too often fans are so eager to point out the flaws and mistakes of high level coaches but we never really take the time to appreciate the beauty and craft of their work being shown in the proper fighters. Hooft seemed to turn his MMA striking coaching after being a pretty bad coach early on with bad corner work and people don't seem to mention him at all anymore.

My favourite Coach: Rafael Cordeiro - his 2015 campaign with Werdum and RDA was insane. 2 fighters with average striking evolved to elite levels and adopted super effective high pressure kick heavy styles, their boxing defence never really matched their entire striking skill level but they were so effective in other areas that it wasn't such a glaring hole. They also adopted amazing thai clinches that were effective for MMA and where used to defensively slow down and opponent or brutalizes a opponent. Guys like Beniel Daruish and Gastelum are high level and calculated strikers with crazy good offence but both share similar issues in boxing defence.
Whenever I hear a fighter go train under Cordeiro I'm always expecting great results.

They influences a fighters style and effectiveness.
Khabib would've never been as effective as he is now at any other gym. Him and Cain share very similar styles.
Aldo/Barao both explosion and leg kick heavy games with great top control and TDD
Hooft has been creating effective strikers.

Or maybe you just like coaching styles during a fight in the corner.
It's a pretty open ended question.

Mikey Brown is underrated as a strategist, while guys like Jackson and Zahabi get their nuts ridden for no apparent reason. Jones and GSP would be great anywhere.

Also love Eugene Bareman's stoic approach to the game.

Jackson and Zahabi sort of mold their fighters to safest route to a victory possible.
But Mike Brown has so many unqiue styles that he allows to be unique and sharpens that shit like crazy. Woodley, Mas, Colby, Poirier are all super different and he does a great job of helping them improve.

Absolutely agree, and to be completely honest with you I hadn't thought about that. I was just looking at it from a game planning pov. Mike is definitely a top tier coach. If my kid wanted to follow the MMA path, I'd send him/her to Mikey Brown no doubt.

P.S. I also never even see a hint of ego from Mike, he works great with other coaches, and really is all about his fighters. Amazing coach.
