And I stress male BW for you smart asses that would say Ronda :)

Inspired by the thread who's the LW goat. Is there really a male BW goat? Most other divisions there seems to be a consensus. I would think it comes down to Cruz, Barao, or Torres. Am I missing someone? I guess I would go with Cruz .

Miguel was a stud back in the day but he really fell off fast. Kind of like Barao with the somewhat huge amount of unknown fighters on his record.

I think Cruz is there. First BW Champ of UFC, beat a P4P contender in Mighty Mouse, avenged his one loss, and has fought a really impressive list of names. Too bad his body fell apart.

And not to be all MMA math on it, but Torres lost to Benavidez and MM, both of who were beaten by Cruz, Joseph B having lost to Cruz twice.

If Cruz beats Dillashaw, there should be no doubt who's the GOAT. But if TJ wins, he'll be making a strong case for himself.

I'd rank 'em like this. Barao's record is better than Dillashaw, but it is kinda hard to ignore the fact that Dilly KO'd him twice, so he should be ranked higher.

1. Cruz- still never LOST his title

2. Dillashaw- could very well beat Cruz and become #1

3. Barao/Torres- part of Barao's aura came with his long win streak, but the majority of those were against cans in Brazil. Miguel Torres was one of the p4p best during his time/prime

Cruz is still undefeated at BW, he'll clearly be the GOAT BW if he beats Dillashaw.

I'm glad that you stressed out that the real BW goat is a male and not ronda.

OT: for me, it's cruz easy. if not for barao getting destroyed by tj twice, he would make a strong case too. also miguel torres but he fell off immediately.

with a couple more title defenses, tj would take it from cruz. (especially if he beat dom and avenge his loss to assuncao)

Its Dillashaw but understand why people think its Cruz.

TJ is a beast recently, but it is just recently. He has 3 wins that were really impressive. That's it. Barao was two of them. Cruz beat a who's who list of top guys and has many more fights than TJ.

Justification please...

lol @ everyone thinking that they have to explain their GOAT picks with statistics,MMAth,records and stuff...

IMO Dillashaw is the BW GOAT because I THINK he is all around better fighter than Cruz and would destroy him everywhere. Not that it matters THAT much, but there isn't a lot of difference in their successes as a champion as well.

What I think(or you think) on who is the better fighter really is a good justification. This is why people argue a lot on who is the GOAT is because the question 'who is the better fighter in their primes' is very subjective. And it should be this way.

Torres was a bigger can crusher than Barao.

I don't think you understand what the GOAT acronym means.

For a pseudo sport, still in it's infancy, there are way too many "GOAT" discussions.

no it's not

Imo Cruz, but the way Dillashaw is going, he is hot on his trail.

Torres was great for a while, and imho he beat MM in their fight, I thought that decision was dogshit. Much like GSP taking over Hughes as WW GOAT though, I think Cruz did it to Torres.
