Vera has been 2-0 since signing with OneFC and becoming their HWT champion. Who does he fight next?

Some names that come to mind:

Denis Stojnic (36) 12-3 overall, has been on a 7 fight win streak since going
0-2 in the UFC against Struve and Velasquez.

Tony Lopez (42) 40-21 overall, former long reigning KOTC HWT Champion, 3-3 in his last 6 fights.

Tim Hague (32) 20-12 overall, has an upcoming bout against Khalib Starnes in XFFC. 10-0 in KOTC, 3-0 in WSOF, 1-4 in UFC.

Travis Wiuff (38) 73-20 overall, 7-1 in Extreme Challenge, 4-2 in BellatorFC, 3-0 in Driller/SEG promotions

Mike Kyle (36) 21-14-1 overall, 4-3 in WEC/UFC, 3-4-1 in Strikeforce, long time member of AKA.

Yosef Ali Muhammed (N/A) 6-2 overall, tough Swedish hwt prospect. 5 tkos in 6 wins.

Jared Rosholt (29), 14-3 overall, recently cut from the ufc after going 6-2 in the promotion. Now a free agent.

Any thoughts or other ideas for match ups?

I'd be excited to watch Vera but none of those names excite me. Most of those guys and on the down-side of their careers or i never heard of them except maybe Rosholt..but not interested in Rosholt vs Vera Why not sign the guy who just beat Kyle, Golstov instead of Kyle?

At this point though I don't care who he fights, would just like to see him healthy and active.

Goltsov would be awesome too, much better chance of beating Vera. I think OneFC is feeding Vera guys to improve his record though, that's why I went with Kyle.

i can see that, plus Vera has been inactive so i can see them choosing his opponents carefully. Kyle is kinda dangerous though, he's got a big punch that can knock a lot of guys out even if he is on a losing streak

Stojnic, Kyle or Rosholt. Someone with some big league MMA experience that will present a challenge. Stojnic and Rosholt are probably the best choices. Kyle is probably too worn down and battle-scarred. He's looked quite bad recently.

For sure, Kyle is a great athlete. A lot of fight miles on him though.

Rosholt would be really good, Stojnic has look tough as of late too.

Hopefully they can sort out whatever is holding up a fight with Chi Lewis-Parry.

i just looked at vera's record to refresh my memory and damn the truth is he's only really lost to like the best guys...werdum, the current champ, rothwell a current contender, shogun, jon bones, couture (a fight which i thought he won)...too bad he's now forced to destroy guys like paul cheng, he is way way out of their league

Denis Stojnic would be the best bet, he's on a streak and was going to fight in Road FC. OneFC won't let Rosholt anywhere near Vera, no way they let their champion drop a decision if Rosholt can lay on him.

I Definitely like a Stojnic match up as well

Brandon Vera? I didn't even know what's currently going on with him to think about what's next.

Rematch with Randy Couture?

One wants Vera to be their posterboy, So they will probably put him against that Egiptian Dude thats like 1-5 or maybe Alain Ngalani(hard fight for like 2 minutes, then his stamina ends and he becames a punch bag).

You're being too generous. Vera also lost to Jardine and he lost to a really old Couture...the one Lyoto destroyed. And Vera's wins were either uninspiring (Eliot Marshall) or against really bad opponents (Mike Patt, who had no business in the UFC). Having said that, Vera has some legit skills, and he could've beat Jardine and had a clear decision over Randy with more aggression and a better gameplan. But coulda/woulda/shoulda....Vera is often too passive and tends to lose competitive fights that turn into wars (Shogun, Rothwell).

Don't forget, Thiago Silva (who's looking really bad now) literally played the bongos on Vera's head. Hey, Silva-Vera II at HW sounds like a good idea!

He's had a few brutal finishes in ONE, I've always liked Vera and think he will eventually fight in the UFC again.

Yeah, Vera's a bad ass fighter. Always loved his style, even in some of his slower fights. Awesome leg kicks.

Guy had some bad luck in the UFC, robbed vs Jardine, ridiculously robbed vs Couture, was lighting up Rothwell until movement Rothwell showed up. His fight with Shogun was amazing too.

I'd like to see him KO Kyle personally. Would be a quick brutal fight. Then Fedor in RIZIN, if Fedor isn't rematching Zulu.

That actually does sound like a good idea.

Rosholt or Shawn Jordan would be good options if they cant get a deal with Parry but does OneFC want Vera to possibly lose?

I think they'd rather have Vera as champ so not sure they go after few legit guys out there like Rosholt and Jordan.

Is Lavar Johnson retired 18-10 overall, 3-2 SF, 4-2 WEC, 2-2 UFC, 1-3 Bellator
