I always considered Faber one of the best fighters to not hold a belt. The way he crushes and completely dominates his opponents(when they happen to not be the champ) is crazy.

TJ did what Faber couldn't do with 2 opportunities.

    Knowing that styles make fights.

How do you think a fight between them would go??And who's the better fighter in your opinion??

Saw this thread coming, But I'm gonna be a dick and say TJ without any relevant information as to why, just cause of how badly he beat Barao.

TJ right now is better than prime Faber imo.

Faber is awesome but he always seemed to struggle in his biggest fights such as Mike Brown fights, Aldo and Barao fights. He seems to destroy everyone except the champs.

If you had a graph showing both guys, I think right around Saturday night, or maybe at some point about a month before it, TJ passed Faber. Faber's not getting any younger and TJ's only getting better.

I think it would be an awesome fight though and there is no reason to think that Faber couldn't beat TJ on a good day. I saw nothing in either of the two Barao fights that gave me any indication that Faber would ever beat him. Sometimes, someone is just a bad matchup for you and that was one of those matchups.

It's interesting because in most of footages you'd think Faber is basically TJ's coach. The way TJ always says that he looks up to him and has learned so much from him.

And now they're ranking wise in a different position and TJ is the one with the belt in their camps,so...

Faber fought with a broken rib in the first Barao fight
and in the second he was on short notice.

Therefore Barao was pretty lucky, Faber had no gameplan nor training camp, besides that Herb Dean won the second fight, cuz Barao punched Fabers shoulder!!!

Faber hit Barao with every right hand he threw, Barao got a bit lucky with his punches and is also taller and has more reach. Good Chance Faber would've come back.

To TJ vs Faber: I think TJ's footwork combined with being a bit taller and having more reach gives Faber problems, who has the better wrestling and bjj.

But that question can only be answered by someone from team alpha male, as they spar on a regular basis.

lets not say better yet... styles make fights and itd be a good matchup for tj tho imho

i think that fight would be like faber vs cruz.

cruz really exploited his speed and length advantage, tj prob would do the same.

but if uriah could make it a wrasslin match, i think his real strength is his grappling/subs

and a nice lil (butt)chin... sorry i had to :S

TJ should be the underdog in a fight like this, but who isnt an underdog with Faber? I still think Faber beats Barao even though im fan of them both and after Urijah losing 3 title fights i would rather see TJ as a champ

Uriah is an excellent fighter, and very well rounded.. but he is 35, and he has been fighting elite guys for almost 10 years now... that is a lot of milage... TJ may not be a kid @ 28, but he is just coming into his prime, and he has seen a lot less wear and tear.. at this point, I think it would be hard to not pick Dillashaw... Faber's experience, well rounded attack and conditioning would make this a hell of a good fight, but in the end, youth would prevail..

If the fight was for TJ's belt then obviously Faber would lose.

Faber WAS better but I feel like Faber has no more room to improve he's right about his peak now. TJ on the other hand is improving very fast.

    This.

Also, durin the post-fight press conference, when asked if he would figt Faber, TJ had a look of absolute terror in his face, if I remember correctly. It was as if he knew something about their styles matching up that nobody outside of TAM knows.

Faber won't be able to take Dillashaw down and Dillashaw would light Faber up on the feet.
