That less than 4 years after Zuffa bought Strikeforce and the WEC merger, that a WEC'er and a Strikeforce fighter would be fighting for UFC belt in its deepest division. huhuhu dana huhuhu

The only reason they're good now is because they've been graced by the powers of the octagon.

That's the zuffa hype machine for you, there's always going to be fighters who aren't in the UFC that are top 10 material. Anyone who thinks Michael Chandler couldn't hang or win against the top fighters at 155 are morons.

while I agree with this, there have been a few times when people who have a lot of hype behind them come into the ufc and look very lackluster. E.g. shields, overeem, lombard, and im sure there are others I can't think of off the top of my head.

So I think you're right, there are obviously good, top 10 fighters that started outside the ufc or are outside the ufc, but I also think it is kind of different fighting in the ufc than anywhere else (as dana likes to say)

The thing is Lombard, Overeem and Shields always had glaring weaknesses. Chandler has none and finished a consensus top 5-10 (depending on who you ask) fighter to win the title and has only looked better since then.

I know what you're saying but I'd put Chandler way above those fighters' levels no matter what accomplishments they have.

The UFC having the best fighters has always been a myth.

Back when WEC, DREAM, Affliction, Strikeforce etc. were still going strong UFC had majority of top fighters only in WW, MW and LHW. Right after Strikeforce closed its doors UFC was at its most dominant but now Bellator, WSOF and even ONE FC all have top fighters in their rosters.

This should have proven that other promotions aren't "minor league" like some zuffa Zombies like to spout.

but then again, Zombies are not known for being extra-smart, are they?

We knew all along the quality of fighters in WEC. It was just a matter of would UFC add the lighter weight classes. Strikeforce had some quality guys also so none of this is a shocking. There is talent all over outside of the UFC some will end up with them and some will not.

Typical business man expounding the virtues of his product. What is he trying to do make a profit or something? Doesnt he understand that as soon as anything becomes successful it becomes hip not to like it anymore?
SPOILER: The hipsters are all still watching.:)

Yeah but he only fought one of those top 10 guys and we don't even know how well Eddie would've done in the UFC in my opinion you have to be competing against top 10 opponents to be considered in the top ten, Chandler looked better after the Alveraz fight because he was fighting inferior fighter than Alveraz. You have to take all facts into consideration. However I personally agree with Chandler being a top ten'er and also probably Alveraz, Shitty part is we will probably never find out how they would've faired against top tier competition. Like I said considering the best people they have fought was each other and no one else that's even close to the top 15 its hard to judge how good they really are. and that cat whose name is poser caust is freaking crazy saying chandler would wreck Pettis.

WHAT? All those guys are in the UFC. They do have the best fighters.

They don't manufacture fighters. Henderson isn't a WEC fighter. He's a UFC fighter.

Josh Thomson was in the UFC before StrikeForce anyway.

    This is stupid.
