I should probably make this into a poll, but here we go...

Which one of these fighters do you think will be a UFC champion first?

Daniel Cormier
Rory MacDonald
Gilbert Melendez
Alexander Gustafsson
Gray Maynard
Eddie Alvarez
Erick Silva
Johny Hendricks
Gegard Mousasi
Chris Weidman
Hector Lombard
Alistair Overeem

I'm going with Daniel Cormier at LHW. I think he has all the tools to beat JBJ.

Gus
Mousasi
Cormier (depending on what weight class he settles on)


I was gonna pick Alvarez too but I can't. I like him as a fighter a whole lot but he gets rocked a little too often for his own good. I have a good feeling he's going to Shadfaced one of these days.

He has the tools to beat both JDS and Jones.
 
I think Cormier would give JDS a strong fight.
 
I can't see Mousasi ever winning a title. Probably Rory.
 
Hendricks will be champ first. KO over Ellenberger and then beats either gsp or diaz
 
I don't see anyone at LHW, MW or WW beat the champions any time soon. Cormier could be HW champ but I don't favor him over JDS. I think LW is the best bet, and the best LW on that list is Gray Maynard. So Maynard.
 
Chris weidman, i think AS is the best fighter ever, but with his age, ande how skilled Weidman is, i'm picking him

I'm gonna say none of them with the current champions atm.

Once Jones vacates I can see Gustaffson getting the title if he has the right match up for the belt. I can see Rory or Weidman taking the 185 strap once Silva has retired if the division doesn't get flooded with 205'ers such as Machida following Silva's retirement .
 
I think Pettis could be the lw champ by mid 2013

I'd agree with you but Cormier can't cut weight anymore because of his kidneys. I'd say Overeem only if he fights JDS for the title but imo Cain would beat Overeem

Cormier already said in interviews that he would attempt to cut down to 205 once he moved to the UFC.
 
overeem is 2 fights away from having the HW belt imo. I don't see any other fighters being closer
