Jones was busier in the first, and had some nice knees and punches to the body. But Cormier had a lot of success in the clinch, hitting some big uppercuts that looked like they were doing as much damage as anything Jones was doing to him imo. Apart from the eye poke obviously :icon_evil

I had it 2-1 Jones after 3. It was competitive with both guys having success. However, I do think Jones was landing the more effective strikes.

I suppose there were his usual nasty elbows there as well.

This is how everyone I watched it with saw it too, DC clearly won round 2 but Jones was more effective in 1 and 3.

It was the body shots and kicks that were fucking DC up.

Jones had the better shots to the body which seemed to have worked in helping tire out DC. Cormier landed the better shots in the clinch though, to Jones' head.

I had it 4-1 with Cormier winning the second. The fight was closer than the score cards indicate. The only round Jones easily won was the 4th. The rest were very close rounds.

It pissed me off that Jones won. I really want to see him humiliated in the cage.

I gave DC rounds 2 and 3. I believe he had more head strikes through the first 3 rounds, although you could make the case that Jon's shots to the body were more significant since DC wilted in the 4th.

Cormier landed some solid uppercuts and other shots in the clinch but Jones body shots and elbows were underrated.

Cormier attested to the damage of those knees, hooks, front kicks, and body kicks. After the early body shot each one was sapping him and played into him slowing down.

    I had Jones 1 & 3 and Cormier 2.

Jones landed harder single shots but cormier was giving him the business on the inside with the uppercuts/dirty boxing

Cormier I felt was landing the better shots in the first 3 rounds.

Really I think that the fight is a shit tonne closer then people are giving it credit for.

Round 5, DC probably seals it had he either gotten on top of Jones or taken Jones down again, hell there was next to no activity in that round I wouldn't mind calling it a 10-10. Round 3 was pretty close and one judge gave DC the round.
