this would give us the fights we want to see....there's no ducking, you fight the next guy.

I don't see why they don't try, they do it on Tuf.

idk abt you guys but When Fedor won and Sonnen came into the change it got me excited for the fight. It's good promotion imo Don't know why the UFC doesn't try it..

Yeah totally a GP for every weight class esp with LW and MW.

Plus it'll probably help with having backups too just in case fighters get injured or don't make weight.

Yea it’s a good idea but injuries can ruin it

We've got enough trouble getting the scheduled fights to the Octagon because of injuries, weight cutting fiascos and thrown dollies. You think a Grand Prix is going to go off without a hitch?

Grand Prix would be awesome, but ya ... injuries.

Me. But none of this "grand prix that takes a year to complete" shit!

Yep sounds nice, but injuries. Fighters aren't going to fight injured if they know they'll be cut if they lose. This was one of the things that was better about pride. Even if you were winning fights they'd send your ass packing if you were boring. And if you came to scrap they'd never cut you after a loss.

And there's the other issue. Since you can't do multiple fights in a night, none of these modern tournaments are really GPs. Calling it a tournament and then scheduling the fights like normal is just boring to me. If it takes a year to complete it was never a grand prix.
