Who should Stipe fight next? It it very murky right now do they run Overeem back is Cain going to be ready to fight anytime soon. Does Fabricio get the shot because of his ranking. Even Ngannou has to be in the mix...

I think the UFC wants Cain for his next fight.

A rematch with Werdum would be nice if Werdum gets past Overeem. At least there won't be any questions about the loss after a rematch. Cain should win another fight.

Cain. Ngannou can wait. Still not 100% sold on his hype.

Cain, get it over with even though he's only on a one-fight win streak, that way we can make the "greatest heavyweight ever" threads if Stipe wins. Not Ngannou, he still needs another top ten win (his only one is against an Arlovski who had already been knocked out recently a couple times).

Cain would be the obvious answer, but who knows with Cain? he barely ever fights and I just have no faith that even when he is booked to fight that he won't pull out.

I'd personally still love to see Stipe vs Cormier. Cormier is a real HW, and he is killing himself to get to 205 because Cain is his best friend and promised him he won't fight there. I want to see that fight

Velasquez is the fight to make. Breaking the UFC HW win record against a guy many people felt was one of the GOAT HW's. Stipe and his management should be begging for this fight.

    Cain just recently said —

"I'm still recovering from certain injuries - I had back surgery in January. I think next year I will be ready to fight and for me it's always been about who the UFC puts in front of me.

"I just want to fight the best guys that are out there. I think if I have to fight one more before I get a title shot then I'll be okay with that."

Since Stipe's looking for late fall/early winter, maybe November, for his next bout, Cain may not work out to be the next contender. Pity that. Cain v Miocic is the itch you feel compelled to scratch — even against all medical advice.
