If Gastelum beat Whittaker and Vettori beat Holland
I think Izzy will choose Kelvin but I really wanna see Vettori against Izzy again
The first fight fight was close and I wanna see what he can do in five rounds fight

I think Kelvin has the best chance at Izzy between the 2.

Kelvin wont get it, he hasnt look that good lately.

Think Vettori is front runner, especially if he looks good on Saturday. I doubt Whittaker gets it. Adensanya has said hes not interested in him. Which is fair he did obliterate him

If that scenario happened Izzy would probably want to rematch Vettori just to shut him up, as he's still complaining about the decision today. Clear 2-1 victory for Izzy but one stupid judge giving it to Vettori created an illusion that it was a close fight.

Jan should move down and take a second strap

Israel tried to take his, only fair the man gets a chance to do the same, if he wishes :)

Not fair at all.

We all complain about guys getting immediate title shots. Well, Whittaker took a step back and beat 2 top 5 guys and was scheduled to fight another top 5 guy - unfortunately it fell through and he's fighting Gastelum instead.

But assuming he wins, that's 2 top 5 wins and a top 10 win since the Israel fight. No one else has come close to that. If Whittaker wins, he absolutely should get a title shot.

Well objectively speaking a win over Whittaker would be the single greatest claim to a TS at the moment

I just don't see where the reaper will lose this fight, I like his distance control and management in this fight and the ability to surprise Gastelum with new tricks up his sleeve.

Vettori. They always like a plan to make a new national star and sell ppv's in their country. They've never had a chance this good with Italy, so that will probably be their direction.

Agreed. Whittaker is really, really good. I wouldn’t sell him short in an Izzy rematch

Rewatch that fight. Whittaker had nothing for him and I like Rob btw. But thats the reality, if anything you could argue that Vettori gave Adensanya the tougher fight.

well Whittaker has a glass jaw now so anything can happen
but I agree Robert is the favourite here

  • Whittaker had nothing for him.

These are not mutually exclusive statements. What you and I are saying are not diametrically opposed.

But the first (yours) in an opinion, and the second (mine) is a fact  And if you have any interest in title fights being about merit, I suggest you consider the difference. Cheers.

If it’s between Gastelum and Vettori in that scenario then Vettori is next in line.
In reality there are at least 2-3 others hovering around who would probably still be ahead in the queue, Costa, Cannonier and in all likelihood Till as unfair as that might seem. Brunson too should at least feature in the conversation.

Based on your what if, you would have to give the title shot to Vettori.
If he beats Holland, he is 5-0 since fighting Adesanya.
If Gastelum beats Whitaker, he would only be 2-2. I think RW takes that one anyway.
