Who retired, only to return,... the most times?

I honestly don't keep track of people who call it quits, then return because, 90% of them are going out when they cannot hang with the best anymore.

But I do wanna know who has the hardest time calling it a day?
My guess would be BJ and, I think he retired 3 X

I am also trying to see if there is a monetary gain from fighters who do this or, is their a monetary loss by such actions?

Not UFC but Mayweather retires after every fight.

Yeah, he retired after the Nelson fight, came back to fight one last K1 fight (event was called cro cop final fight mind you) but kept on fighting in K1 after that than he retired again before the Hamilton fight, just to unretire and fight for RIZIN.
 
I'm guessing it's between Couture or Nick Diaz
 
Nick, but then again does a suspension count as retirement?
