Dominated every aspect of the fight (50 - 44) against a guy in his prime, and the same size as him.

Had to lay on top of a middleweight past their prime for a W.

NEITHER guy looked bad at all tbh...

Jones was tentative, but won every round. Took one big shot the whole fight. Not overly impressive, but easily did what he needed to do to secure the win while sustaining minimal damage.

DC completely man-handled Anderson and controlled where the fight took place. Took one liver kick that made him wince at the end of the fight, but STILL kept his composure and won handily.

Folks saying EITHER guy looked "terrible" are just letting their hate get in the way. Jones looked a bit 'off' and maybe rusty from the lay-off, but he still handled OSP easily. DC had a last minute switch of opponent, so he did exactly what he needed to do - Fight a smart fight and take Silva out of his game.

Both guys fought to the level of their opposition and still dominated. Looking forward to the rematch.

Tie. DC dominated every second except for a liver kick at the end, but Anderson is far more lethal standing than OSP. Jones didn't have a scary moment in that fight though.

hahahahahaha definitely a biased thread but I will say this, and its gonna sound crazy, but I honestly think DC could've mauled Anderson and just went easy on him for the easy win. Dude threw fucking Josh Barnett in the air like a child on a full camp and was content to hang out in Anderson's guard for 3 round when the spider was on 2 days notice?

I mean he still made the fight look easy as hell, I don't understand why people say he looked bad. Boring? Maybe. but he was in control for 99% of the fight minus one liver kick which he took like a champ. After I'm sure what was a brutal weight cut might I add

Yeah yeah flame me all you want but I really think DC just wanted to make it as painless as possible out of respect and just pure exhaustion from the whole soap opera that had occurred the days prior.

At least he was actually at the fucking fight instead of JBJ who was joining his manager in furiously googling "how to get out of a failed USADA drug test". I mean I'm sure 99% of professional athletes are doping but cmon, dude was hysterically crying at the press conference like a middle schooler caught cheating on his mid-term and then comes out to blame some off-brand Cialis.

DC looked as though he took it easy on Anderson. Maybe out of hespect for stepping up and saving his fight after Jones fell through. Just looked like he was in cruise mode for that fight...

Silva is the goat, and had some of his best performances at LHW. Yeah, Silva is past his prime, but the ability and power to finish guys is still there. And I´m sure it will be there even when he´s 60 years old. But I gotta say I expected DC to finish Silva in the 1st, but props to Silva for being able to defend himself against the LHW champ after taking the fight on 2 days notice.

OSP is a big strong dude, but has a lot of weaknesses in his game. Jones looked a little slow and hesitant in there, but he was able to fracture OSP's arm with a kick and then picked him apart throughout the fight... but the thing is, a lot of people expected him to finish OSP (like Teixeira did for example), but Jones couldn´t do it. Still a dominant but safe performance imo.

Jones beat OSP at what OSP was best at.

DC panic wrestled. Because he couldn't hang with Anderson on the feet... Shit even Bisping stayed on the feet with Anderson.

As silly as it sounds, this is how I feel as well.

DC versus Anderson. Jon Jones looked the same versus OSP. Jon Jones needs to be pushed. He is a cerebral fighter. I didn't see a big deviation in his fighting style.

DC trained to fight Jon Jones and he was tentative versus a Silva 3 months post-surgery, with no training.

DC should have treated Silva the way Khabib treated Michael Johnson. He should have SMASHED SIlva.

Oh, come on man, nobody goes inside the cage with that mindset "I´m gonna take it easy out of respect" specially not with so much at steak and against a guy like Silva who can finish you at any time. Cormier wanted to get a safe win taking it to the ground and finish Silva with gnp (instead of a stand up strategy for obvious reasons), but Silva did a great job defending himself on the ground, that's what happened.

Or maybe he was just fighting not lose.

Yeah but beating OSP at 'what OSP was best at' isn't really impressive.

Rusty Jones. And, a last minute replacement of Cormier vs Silva.

If I had to pick which was worse. I'd say Jones. It's so hard to judge a last minute fight like 200. Cormier took that kick to the body. But, other than that he was comfortably in control.

Jones really was ripe for the pickin in his last fight. He should be thankful that it was OSP.

Jones looked better because DC had a spare tire around his waist. Jones appeared fit and trim.
But of course, DC has trouble making 205 because "of his kidneys".

I'm not convinced- maybe he was looking for a safe and easy win but he didn't really seem to break a sweat. Former heavy weight top ten vs a middle weight. I think DC went easy!. maybe i gotta rewatch butjust looked like DC almost felt bad for him. Again it has been a year. Silva is a GOAT but DC throws much larger guys around on the reg.

i said the same thing aobut that fight. seemed like an exibition bout more that a real fight. i forgot who but someone told me how stupid i sounded or something like that.

Both won easy.

DC just looked boring because he played the "human blanket" during most of the fight. Silva is still very dangerous (it only takes one well-timed-well-placed shot), so Cormier decided to fight conservative (he explained that after the fight). I think he probably could have delivered much more damage, but he did not want to take risks.

Jones was rusty (although he won easily against a powerful guy who was in a great moment).

I don't think Jones' new body type is gonna be good for his game. We will likely find out that he is slower now, and I doubt he has become stronger than DC.

It was DC's game plan he has explained it time and time again I and the Jones fight was off a lay off but he still dominated so I am not sure what the question is.
Unless since they did not kill their opponent dead in the first 20 seconds they sucked according to the avg casual fan?
The only way to please a casual fan is to kill somebody or disable them other than that they are bored

Fighters suffer kidney damage to make weight all the time. He's a fat boy who has been cutting serious weight for competition his entire life. I bet his kidneys are fucked. Noob.
