Timothy Dalton was perfect in his first Bond film and terrible in his second and last.

(The Living Daylights --> Licence to Kill)

If he'd only ever done the first, he'd be my second favorite Bond.

I voted Moore since he was my Bond as a kid, but in reality it’s Sean Connery.

George Lazenby BABY! O.H.M.S.S.

I just can't help but associate him with the cheapening of the brand.

He was painted into the Roger Moore corner. So glad they reset and went with Craig and a new direction/style.

My list is as follows:

-Craig
-Connery
-Lazenby
-Dalton
-Moore
-Brosnan (not his portrayal, just the studios fault they made those pieces of crap)

Sean Connery

I rank them as

Craig
Moore
Connery
Pierce
Dalton
Timothy Dalton had the best incarnation of James Bond.

I think pierce brosnan was born to play that role. He's perfect for it in every way. It's too bad that his bond movies were not the best written and it kind of soiled his bond legacy.
I tend to agree with this. As time has gone on I've found that he was actually a great Bond, unfortunately the writing for most of his movies (excluding Goldeneye) just wasn't up to par.

Craig & Connery have the best films out of all the Bonds however.

I never liked Connery as an actor, including Bond. I grew up watching Moore (#1), and Pierce was the closest thing to him, so he's my #2. They really shat the bed with most of his films though, wasn't his fault.

Craig is decent, but he's missing charisma. Dalton was too stiff, didn't care for him at all, even though I like him as an actor. He's great in Doom Patrol!

Voted for Craig because I haven't seen the early black/white James Bonds with Sean Connery. Gotta go back and watch those.

I just can't help but associate him with the cheapening of the brand.
I know but it's not his fault. Those movies were just way too unrealistic to the point of being ridiculous.

I enjoy the Daniel Craig movies and he's a good Bond, but I think if you could insert Pierce into a quantum of solace or whatever then he would be better than Craig.

It would be Daniel Craig if he only made Casino Royale, that was the perfect Bond film BUT I believe he got too much say in hiring directors and scripts, QOS was ok, but the last two whilst having strong parts were not only weak but so dumb in the way they simply weren’t Bond films.

The cinematically and musical scores have been amazing though.

Sean wins and always will, the mistake that was made was corrected.

Craig imo allows his ego and wannabe fashion icon control him.

Which is a shame because he is an amazing actor.

Where is the option for Lazenby? It's between him and Connery.

1.Connery
2. Brosnan (pre Die Another Day)
3. Dalton. (Right Bond in average or mediocre movies.)

These are my top three. Not to say that Craig and Moore are bad its just that these 3 stand out.

Honestly I felt with Brosnan Goldeneye worked exactly because he was such a bland Bond, the plot was about the character being outdated so his coming across like a marketign execs merger of previous Bond fit into that. The sequels though played it straight and are all IMHO awful films, bland identikit 90's product placement action.

Bond generally though I think it comes down to whether you like the serious or the camp side of it, the films really arent aiming at the same thing.
