I grew up on Roger Moore and went back to the old Sean Connery films when I was in college and liked him more. He was a tougher Bond but still suave as fuck.

Maybe I'm just spoiled with great action and fight scenes I tend not to like the older Bond films. I grew up watching Moore as a kid so that's why he's my #2.

I don't know what it is, but I always liked Timothy Dalton.

I've never seen any of Daltons movies that's why I have him last. I watched the opening to living daylights on youtube and enjoyed it.

Sheesh, Lazenby can't even catch a slot to remain empty?

This thread (including the poll) has been done before:
Who is your favorite James Bond? Also, what's your favorite Bond film?
Connery is the best Bond, because he subsumes all the facets of Bond in a way that others could only project partially, but my favorite is Craig simply because I love the dark, visceral, angry, sardonic side of Bond the most.

My favorite Bond film is between Craig's best, Casino Royale, and the one that I think probably has the strongest script, but the weakest Bond: On Her Majesty's Secret Service. If it had starred Connery I think it would have vied in the vibrant debate up until the turn of the millenium over which Bond film was best. It also lacks a truly distinctive Bond henchman like Oddjob, Jaws, or Onatopp. I think that's why it flies so far under the radar.
  1. Casino Royale
  2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
  3. Goldeneye
  4. Goldfinger
After this I don't think I'm ever consistent. From Russia with Love is the obvious choice, but Moore's best film, The Spy Who Loved Me, never seems to get the love it deserves. I also have a real soft spot for Octopussy, and favor Thunderball as much as most franchise fans.

I acknowledge that Dr. No & Skyfall are in the better half of the 25 films so far, but I don't like them nearly as much as everyone else, and for that reason find them to be the two most overrated in the franchise. The latter has definitely been growing on me with re-views. Not the former.

Halle Berry in Die Another Day stands out for the hands down worst performance playing the hands down worst character in the hands down worst film in the franchise's history.

Daniel Craig followed very closely by Sean Connery

I think pierce brosnan was born to play that role. He's perfect for it in every way. It's too bad that his bond movies were not the best written and it kind of soiled his bond legacy.
Goldeneye was fantastic at least. The rest were underwhelming, or Roger Moore era bond over the top.

Connery followed by Dalton.

Lazenby was better than he's given credit for. Shame he didn't stick with the role.

1 connery always had a sense of humor as bond.
2 is moore.
3 is pierce.
4 is craig-good action but no character depth.
5 is dalton
lazenby is the one off.

Connery
Craig
Bronsan
Dalton
Lazenby
Moore

Moores bond is terrible and the opposite of the books. Corniest bond films were Roger Moores. Though I voted Craig given his intensity and the better film productions. I think Connery is just as equal to Craig. Lazenby's 1 film I did enjoy but he was to jolly for Bond, lacked the aggressive streak. Dalton was too assassin like.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is my favorite movie so:

Lazenby
Connery
Craig
Moore
Dalton (road house!)
Brosnan

Connery is the funniest and the most badass all at once.

TBH Madmicks post is really spot on here. He pretty much said it all. Makes me curious if I argued with him in the other poll lol
