IMO its Alexander Karelin. He annihilated everybody until he was old and America found somebody fat enough that he couldn't get his arms around.

Second place would be contested between Wayne Gretzky and Joey Chestnut.
 
Phelps, Mayweather, Schumacher, Bolt come to mind.

Mayweather because he was undefeated? Sugar Ray Robinson is more impressive to me.

I'd say Gretsky although in a subset, I'd say Nadal on clay. The dude is 93-2 against the world's best tennis players over like 15 years. It's kind of insane.
