The greatest striker of all time in my belief without any hesitation is to know that it is he, Anderson Silva, who always has, is and will be, the Goat Striker.

But just for devil's advocate sake, I was wondering if there was anyone who had a difference in opinion. I'm also curious to see who's #2, #3 etc...

Anyways, do you all agree?

I would have to agree.

Yeah, I'm a Pereira fan. Yeah, Pereira hits hard too.

And, yeah, Anderson and Pereira are friends/co-trainers.

But only Anderson Silva could sit there, right in front of you, hands down, make you miss, and then knock you the fuck out.

Same thing with his strength front kicks (à la Vitor Belfort).

No UFC striker could kiss Anderson Silva's ass in his prime.

Literally no one.

Anderson is up there but we have to be honest about the striking opposition he fought. Most his opponents were grapplers, wrestlers or BJJ based.

Vitor and Hendo (still predominantly wrestling) were far and away best strikers. They werent the most technical. Vitor was at his best when he was on TRT and training with Henri Hooft years later.

besides them 2 the best strikers he fought in his prime were Mach and Lee Murray. Good strikers but theres levels.... Again not to discredit Anderson hes absolutely up there but he didnt fight the best striking talent.

You do remember that Anderson bodied Vitor with a single straight front kick, right? ;)

Mighty Mouse and Anderson Silva

Jose Aldo is up there too.
Especially early in his career when he had his full arsenal of kicks and knees before injuries limited his attacks a bit.

Aldo’s one of my all time favorites; but how much of his game was technical vs athleticism/explosiveness/timing?

In their primes, Wonderboy was significantly more precise even if Aldo’s was more concussive.

That said, maybe the distinction doesn’t matter.

After the fights this weekend, I was talking to my friend about something similar and I still think Conor was one of the best strikers in UFC history. I don't know... I know people are going to hate this comment. lol
