chuck and marciano don't work, chuck in his prime had a great chin and marciano is one of the toughest fuckers of all time.

Well that is changing the definition but whatever. Chuck got punched a lot in most his fights and offered little defensive striking while having remarkable TDD. Rocky was tough and amazing but his style was brawling. TS listed Gathje as his example and he reminds me of Rocky.

Crazy to think that guys like Manhoef and Saki have had 100 total pro MMA/kickboxing bouts though, their chins were bound to crack. Manhoef has only been KO’ed 5 times in MMA out of 47 fights whereas Chuck has been KO’ed 7 times in 30 fights think about that. And that’s in addition to his 53 pro kickboxing matches.

Overeem was KOed 5 times in his first 47 MMA fights (plus one corner stoppage against lil Nog) and those were hard shots from Shogun x2, Chuck, Kharinotov and Hoffman. And he was KO’ed 3 times in K-1 as well all before joining the UFC, so yeah his chin is shot now but by that logic Chuck was a glass cannon too.
