Meaning having a big frame for the division, and/or a substantial weight cut leading to a size advantage over other opponents.

125: Tim Elliot(5'9 150 pound walk around)
135: Cruz cuts from like 150-155 which is pretty huge for 135.
145: Max, Elkins, Burgos are all north of 160.
155: Khabib, Tibau, Prazeres, Lee, are all 175-180 pounds.
170: Till and Usman are both 200 pounds.
185: Rockhold by far . 6'3 215 out of camp
205: Lots of large guys in here, hard to say.
265: Ngannou, Hamilton, lots of 260+ guys.

Obviously at 205+ size becomes less of an issue, but at the smaller weight classes, 5-10 pounds is a huge percentage.

10 or 12 years ago when the 'extreme weight cutting era' was taking shape, there were lots of discussions about whether the ability to cut weight well should be the most important skillset in the fight game. when we think of fighting, we certainly don't think of it that way.

i do wish 180lb guys would fight at 170 instead of 155. but implementing a policy which forces or encourages less weight cuts for all - across multiple fighting orgs and multiple state AC's - is difficult, and may very well prove impossible. sure it's easy when an org also manages it's own rules, like OneFC. i doubt CSAC 10pt plan will get much traction for a few more years.

145: Aldo
155: Khabib
170: Woodley
185: Rockhold
205: Daniel Cormier
HW: Maybe Hunt

DC cuts from 235 lbs( he is that weight in cage) according to Big John Mcarty. He was 20 lbs heavier than Jon Jones fight night

Does anyone know what 30% of 200 lbs is?

Meek looked bigger than Usman iirc.

Maybe Gus or Glover for LHW?

If he's 235 on fight night, there's no way he was 20 lbs heavier than Jones. Jones is a big LHW himself and is on record saying he walks around 240 and gets down to about 225 on fight week

How do you have so much inside info about fighters weight? Have you ever seen a single fighter on the scale, out of competition?

your 155 is way off. tony is 200lbs, and none of those guys are under 190

I have spent time around many pro fighters. That is bullshit. You can't cut 45 pounds, unless you are a fat fuck.

Tony weighing in at 200 is deceptive. He might of gotten that high out camp, with heavy clothes on , but the guy is not even close to 200 pounds. Eddie Bravo even said he was a really lean, long, guy for 155, and weighs about 175.

This is Rory at about 200 pounds, he dwarfs Tony.

looks dont tell the story when it comes to weight. some guys look really small but are really heavy, some guys look really big but dont weigh much. i have no real reason to suspect they are all lying about their weights

150 isn't big for BW. But Cruz is pretty big. I heard a while ago he walked around 158.

Forgot what Dolce was claiming, but think Mirsad Bektic is pretty huge.

Jones is a small LHW doe

i agree with this. the interwebs has a way of taking an unsubstantiated statement, turning into a factoid, and then turning it into conventional wisdom.

still, weight cutting has turned into a monster i'd like to see beheaded.
