Burns quit so easily in this fight. that was crazy. He quit easier than Nickal. Although i have to take into account he has a long career w alot of good fights. Different from Bo Nickal who quit in his prime.

Is this a new trend in MMA? I don't remember so many fighters quitting so easily

I thought he beat Hammy but that was his peak. He is a coulda, shoulda been kinda guy. When did you peak TS?

Burns is battle worn. Can't call him a quitter after all his years fighting.

I agree battle worn fighters should be given more latitude, but can't give these guys a full pass. That performance was pathetic and trash.

only took glancing shots and shots to his guard, no damage on his face at the end.

we are watching fighters quit before the fight actually happens now.

Yes, we are. A lot of these guys are showing up for a pay cheque, not to go to war or die in the cage. Especially vets making OK $ at the end of their career .

exactly. Like RDA, make it a grappling match, if that fails, look for a way out

I dgaf if Burns taps to strikes his next fights, he's proved he can go to war. Also Bo did show a little edge when he was getting lit up by RDR he fired back harder than he did the whole fight, but it was too late. Let Burns collect a few checks on the way out.

Calling Gilbert Burns a quitter is wild.

31 pro fights. 24 of those in the UFC, most against ranked opponents.

His body can't take the shots anymore.
He got up when dropped and fought thru it.
That ain't quitting.
He easily could have turtled after the first knockdown instead of finding a successful single leg shot with ill intentioned fists flying at his head ... he chose to fight.

After his Khamzat fight Gilbert Burns is one of the last fighters who should ever have his heart or will questioned

No doubt Nickle took more damage in his last fight, than Burns did last night. That does not make Burns a quitter, nor do Burns previous wars make his quick and pretty effortless exit last night less pathetic.

exactly
always found it laughable all the keyboard warriors on here who regularly question the toughness of people who literally fight for a living
I find it funny that watching combat sports for 35 years …. I wouldn’t be expected to know when a fighter gives up

You definitely can call him that as OP showed us the way. And yes I agree with OP, burns quit big time in that fight. But like you said after all those years making peanuts for the UFC, its ok to let these old tops get in there and make a quick paycheck by quitting early. Wish he would have quit sooner with taking even less damage.
