I see all these director battles or threads about Quentin Tarantino.
While David Croneneberg is my favorite director followed by Kubrick, I always defend and enjoy QT's movies. I really do like them And I really do like listening to QT talk in both his white voice and black voice.

I think QT is the director of my generation. I like all his movies a lot. My college years every guy had a damn RS or PF poster in his room.

Then I was also thinking that how great of an actor Brad Pitt is. I don't like all his movies. But the movies he is in I do like, I am like I could watch this movie just to watch him (no homo). Like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.....I could watch Pitt and DiCrapio for 4 hours if the movie were that long...just bullshitting.

When I first saw Brad Pitt I was like fuck this dude because every girl was wet over him (I was a teen ffs). But I have to say him and Christian Bale and Keanu Reeves are my favorite actors.
Brat Pitt is the actor of my generation.

PS I am at the end of Gen-X.

My personal favorite actor is DeNiro (or Pacino depends on the day) and director is Scorsese but they built up their resume many, many year before. Meanwhile Nolan's work is all since 2000 (Memento).

Childhood director Spielberg
Childhood actor Van Damme

Tarantino
Fincher
Coen Bros
Nolan

Damon
DiCaprio
Bale
S.L. Jackson
Spacey

45 year old checking in. How do I decide which generation is mine? I'm with you with Brad, he's my favourite actor.

I just turned 46. You are gen x! You made it! WOOT!!!

Generation X is the demographic cohort following the baby boomers and preceding the millennials. Researchers and popular media use the early-to-mid-1960s as starting birth years and the late 1970s to early 1980s as ending birth years, with the generation being generally defined as people born from 1965 to 1980.

Nolan was post college for me (memento).

It took me a LOOOOOOOONG time to like DiCrapio. Fucking hated titanic. I don't think I started liking him until he was in QT movies.

hmmm....I was really into those two like early on in my childhood. Especially Big Trouble In Little China. I feel they were too early for me.

and OMFG I watched some of In The Mouth Of Madness last night again....I have seen that shit like 40 times....it is terrible but I love it.

I had to Google what Gen x is,lol

the best generation ever....sure we don't do anything but deal with it

I'm 46 this time next week.
Should I go with Scorsese? Goodfellas and Casino were fantastic for me, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels which is my favourite I felt like more of a grown up, lol. I disliked Reservoir Dogs (don't kill me, @dc007) for ages so didn't really join that band wagon till a bit later.

I think I'll go with Scorsese, although he pissed me off with Gangs of New York. I avoided every single thing about it before going to the cinema expecting another gangster sort of movie like Goodellas and while it was a good flick, pissed me right off.

Im an old millenial. Just recently found that out. Objectively Id go with Spielberg and Ahnald.

Thats crazy dude I was literally gonna make this exact thread.

Isnt that crazy? I mean this exact one!

For my childhood its probably Speilberg/Hanks.
Getting into adulthood probably Fincher and Tarantino and Pitt and Dicaprio.

Guess I'd go with Scorsese and De Niro

Threre are actors and directors I prefer, but those two on form were magic, from Mean Streets to Goodfellas I was mesmerized
