Who is the 40-something GOAT based ONLY on fights during their 40s? (MMAJunkie just stole this idea)

Doesn't it have to be randy? I didnt read but I feel like he won multiple titles in his 40s.

Dan Henderson won the strikeforce LHW title, Fight of the Year vs Shogun and should have been the MW champ if it were not for Bispings hometown decision.

And the first man to knock out Fedor
Dude how would you have imagined hendo vs GSP would have went?

I think Hendo and Couture are the obvious choices. Either one has a strong argument. Go Team Quest

Cro Cop. 9-0 after his 40th birthday with 8 finishes.

Before he turned 40 he lost 4 of 6.

seriously
how is severn not getting any love here
the man fought and won into his 50's
was like 25-5 in his 40's

Randy turned 40 in 2003 , he’s beat some bad mama jammas since 2003
Iceman
Tito
Vitor
Big Tim
Gonzaga

Those are great wins but Couture had only been fighting for 6 years with 15 career fights to that point. He wasn't your typical 40yo fighter

Compare that to Hendo who already had a 13 year career with 33 fights by the time he turned 40

But the rules in the OP say that fights before 40 don't count so they shouldn't be taken into account in any manner.

helps to start a fight career later, with a grappling background, but no head trauma from striking

The idea for this thread was based on a comment in another thread regarding Glover Texiera.

Fights before their 40th birthday do not count.

Anderson Silva is clearly not the GOAT. He is 1-6 during his 40s. Yoel Romero is 1-5.

Meanwhile Glover is 2-0 with two finishes against top ranked opposition.

Who you got?
So a Glover suck off thread?

This is a different category - "Timeless GOAT"

-Be a shoo-in for freestyle Olympic Gold in your 20's (if not for politics)
-Become a pioneer and MMA legend in your late 30's
-Amas more than 100 pro MMA fight wins, mainly in 40's
-Keep fighting until 50's.
at least one sherbro hespeks the beast

The best 40 something fighter should resemble a 40 something randy couture of the 50 something crowd, or 10 years older than a 30 year old randy couture of the 40 something crowd.

Herschel Walker was 48 when he had his first fight. He only had 2 pro fights but he beat the shit out of both of those guys.
