Who should be the next 007 assuming Daniel Craig doesn't return to the role?

Of the list I have seen, the top 3 I would lean towards is Damian Lewis, Henry Cavhill, and Tom Hardy. I was impressed with Damian Lewis in Homeland and a variety of other roles. Henry Cavhill looked great in Man of Steel or Uncle among a ton other roles. Tom Hardy is my likely my pick. His performance as Bane, lead in Lawless, Bronson, and a variety of other roles illustrates what he could do to the role. Also, he gets in incredible shape in his movie roles so, he could do that following Craig's lead.

Idris Elba is a great actor. He is not my pick. It reminds me of The Last Samurai staring Tom Cruise. Seriously, WTF? How about we have a new Ali movie staring Tom Arnold?

Anyway, who do you guys see replacing Craig as 007? I am seeing a lot of votes going toward Lewis online.

I dunno how to do a poll or I would have!

No particular order, but it wouldn't surprise me to see any of these guys in that role: Christian Bale, Idris Elba, Luke Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Bettany. I guess it depends on the direction the franchise takes after Daniel Craig is gone. Tom Hardy is a talented actor but maybe too short for this role. Henry Cavill comes off as whitebread in a lot of his roles.

Maybe not this time round, but maybe in 10 years Ed Skrein could be an interesting options

Cavill would be my shout. I wouldn't cry if Elba got it though.

Maybe but he would own the role. If "whitebread" actors stared in movies like Ali or shaft, a certain portion of the population would freak the fuck out. Insert Oscar freak out meme hurrrr!

I can see Lewis doing well despite being a ginger (sorta).

Interesting choice. I think Lewis will get the gig. I think Hardy showed diversity in his career enough to pull this off. I want to see another jacked 007.

He got the eye patch role in avengers. If somebody like Tom Arnold stared as war machine the level of victimhood would reach top capacity.

Idris Elba or Clive Owen would be the two best that I can think of.

Black James Bond sounds odd at first, but Stringer Bell with a British accent would work fine.

Both are on the old side, but still better suited to the role than any younger actors I can think of.

I would like to see Elba, but mainly because I know someone who is a massive Bond fan and a bit of a racist. So that would be funny to see his reaction.

There is a problem now a days. Any time people don't win, cry victimhood. If you speak out against bullshit like affirmative action and hiring to fill a status quo instead of the best candidate just cause that's the in thing to do, it sets the precedence for mediocrity.

Imagine a world where a movie on Michael Jordan plays and it stars Tom Arnold. Hold that thought.

The role of the eye patch dude in avengers filled by Jackson was another blunder. I am fine with a black 007 assuming it goes both ways. They set the precedence already with money penny in the last 007. Personally, I would prefer to see Elba play as 008 or another agent or double agent. His persona in Luther shows he has the adaptability and character. I am thinking Damian Lewis will get the role. He was impressive on Homeland as a traitor and military hero. He played both roles well and the audience I believe liked him. We shall see. I must admit I was disappointed with Craig replacing Pierce Brosnan. One has charm and the other doesn't but Craig used that and came off a cold hearted basted and blew me away with his performance in casino Royale.

It's just a movie. If it's good, people will see it. If it isn't, they won't. It's just not a big deal.
