Who is MMA’s Buster Douglas?

Can't say Holly, because Ronda was overhyped. GSP legitimately was beaten down by a far lesser fighter.

Answer has to be Serra.

tyson was also way overhyped. there's a reason he was fighting cans in japan instead of evander holyfield in america until 1996

Need to have a near invincible heavyweight champ at age 21 knocking everyone out in less than 5 minutes, then we may get our buster douglas.

Mirko cro cop at 26, cruised through the hw division knocking people out every match with the left HK

Werdum and there are countless comparisons.

Always Champion material but had an indestructible force playing the game at the same time. That said force was in decline but it went unnoticed on many until it was over. Werdum imo in mma is above Buster in boxing skillwise but both at the top of their game could beat anybody when it's a more level playing field.
Buster was an underrated talent.

Can't be Holly Holm. She's been pretty competitive with other top WMMA fighters. Buster Douglas wouldn't be able to beat the top 10 in boxing.

Micheal Bisping beating Rockhold was a Buster Douglas moment. Same with Serra.
Buster Douglas was a very talented hw.

Holmes was the one who everyone was saying was going to beat Ronda even before she signed with the UFC. Not sure why everyone acts now like she was such a big underdog.
Because she was a gigantic fuckin underdog.

Kerr was a monster but he was somewhat unproven.

Who did he beat that was Top 10?
I think Enson is his best win, but I don’t know if he was Top 10.

IMO, a lot of Kerr hype comes from how unbeatable he looked in Abu Dhabi.

Kerr was just not a good fighter, really. It's crazy how overrated he's become as time has gone by, but Kerr was just never that impressive. His top victory might have been over Bobish via chin to the eye... Whenever he faced any tough, durable HW he gassed horrifically and got beat up. His physique was frightening and he was a very good pure submission grappler, but he did not have the toughness or endurance to apply that to MMA against anyone of note.

I've seen people on here say that in his prime he could have handled Brock with ease; I have to assume that's because they've never seen him fight.

Yeah....no.
Yeah.. Yeah. Tim wasn't mike, but Mercer wasn't an MMA fighter with a decent record, either.

Betting odds wise, it was probably closer than most of the others mentioned here.

There were no odds. It was supposed to boxing until days before and literally no one cared or watched it.

Perhaps.. But it won inside mmas (is that still on?) "Upset of the year." Somebody watched.

"Once in a lifetime doesn't apply to Ronda Rousey. Its once EVER in human history"

- Joe Hogan

“Our Tyson was Ronda, man. Ronda had this aura of invincibility that we’ve never seen before. That’s why everyone was calling Ronda our Mike Tyson because she was the most dominant athlete on the planet."

- The Goof
Rona faced inferior division, a division in its infancy. She was a pioneer who set the bar high...The Christopher Columbus of WMMA.

Matt Hammill

The biggest upset And biggest win in mma history is when BJ PEnn moved up in weight to beat the no 1 p4p fighter in the world, that seemed almost unbeatable.
