Who in the UFC could go up/go down and have a good chance against the top 5 of the division?

There are some fighters that could go down a weightclass and probably have a lot of success like Frankie Edgar but I dont believe there are any that could go up and be a top 5 contender. The only one I can think of is DJ. He would still lose to Cruz but would be a competitor in the division.

Its helpful if you say if they are going up or down. If you are saying TJ could go up you are dreaming he is way too small.

I'm sure Edgar could bore me at 135 as well.

I agree with this HOWEVER we all know he is too lazy to diet down to that weight. Plus hes too old but if he did it when it was younger

Rockhold could do well at LHW these days.
Aldo could beat many of the LW top 5.
Johnson could beat any bantamweight except Cruz and maybe Dillashaw.
Cormier could be a HW top contender if he was willing to fight Cain.
If Condit went on a near starvation diet he could do very well at LW.

    Mighty Mouse.

Lineker is top 5 and he couldn't even beat Bagautinov.

Rockhold and Weidman both would fare well at 205

Rockhold or Weidman could probably go up to 2015 and be top 5 there, DC could go up to HW, I think Rumble could have a good shot there too, I'd say Rory could have a chance at middle, Aldo at lightweight might work. Mousasi was effective at 205. In terms of going down i'd say Frankie and Pettis

NBK dies before he makes 155. Rockhold would get killed by Rumble, he would not be able to survive at 205.

Aldo would get dwarfed at LW, Conor didn't get past Nate so that keeps him out of LW top five.

Rockhold and Weidman would get rag dolled at 205.

DJ might crack top five at BW but that division is not like it was when he was last there.

Dom might break top five at FW, or just get steam rolled by bigger guys.

Frankie would be top five at BW but never again at LW.

Rumble has shown he can do it.

DC has shown he can do it.

Could Stipe make 205? He's probably not interested.

Interested to see if Cerrone does it.

Of course BJ Penn has done it and Handy Routure.

    Clearly you're trolling, no?

Going by your logic I could say Rich Clementi or Josh Koscheck would beat Top 5 LHWs because they #HANDLED Anthony Rumble...

MM had some success at BW back when the division was shallow but these days Cruz, Dillasnake, Assuncao, Faber, Garbrandt, etc would all smoke him.

Maybe MM beats Caraway who's in the top 5 by default, but he gets no further than that.
