What happened to a lot of semi-auto / auto guns that were banned ? Was there a government buy back scheme or they simply stopped selling them ?

I don't think we had that here. Only magazine size etc...

My Romanian AK had the original strap and was just awesome. Wish I had it.

.22 is the best. They're fun for plinking and cheap ammo. Great for teaching on as well. People underestimate the .22. Its actually lethal up to 400 yards. No recoil. You could plink 5 rounds on a target very quickly
