I know a lot of people believe Cain Valasquez can beat Jones and others still hold out hope for Jones/Gustafsson 2, and I agree it's certainly possible but now it seems just as possible Jones might be able to beat Valasquez and probably will beat Gus again.

What I'm curious about is who people think have the Skillset to beat Jon Jones right now if they were in the Light Heavyweight division. For example if Anthony Pettis was a 205 pounder does he have the skillset to beat Jones? Or if Mighty Mouse was a 205 pounder is his skillset what it would take to beat Jones?

Any fighter from any weight class even Heavyweights of course. Who if anyone do you believe has the skillset that it would take to beat Jon Jones?

P4P Aldo would do quite well I believe. Mendez couldn't take him down and Jones ain't out-striking him.

I always thought a stocky wrestler with explosive takedowns could do it, but after seeing Rashad and Cormier fail to take JJ down maybe I was wrong. Then again neither was known for GSP-like takedowns, so maybe they just weren't the right wrestler.

So I think a fighter like Gus is a good option. An orthodox striker who can defend takedowns while taking advantage of holes in JJ's unorthodox striking game. Then again Gus was undone by a spinning elbow, which is exactly the kind of unorthodox strike that a high level boxer could train to take advantage of.

Jones hates fighting people his own size, thats why he purposely picked DC when he had a choice, regardless of who's the more dangerous fighter. He feels safer when he looks down on his opponent.

As far as the LHW goes, Gus could, but that's pretty much obvious.

It's Still Gus , similar Size better Footwork and Boxing and good enough wrestling. He gave Jones Hell and it's a credit to Jones that he dug deep to win it . Will he make the improvements to have an easier time if he faces Gus again ? Maybe. But I lean towards Gus being the guy that will always give Jones issues

I think if Dominick Cruz was a 205 pounder and was healthy he might be able to beat Jones. He's already pretty tall and lanky for his weight and a lot of people said Gustafsson was emulating his footwork against Jones and he was pretty successful. He's also got pretty great takedown defense.

Alex. Manuwa would have also done very well if he was 10 year younger.

at this point no one in the LHW divission has what it takes to beat JBJ, he can beat any skillset with just his reach and knowing how to use it, i hope some HW fighters get encouraged by the fact that DC drop down 1 division to fight JBJ, if someone can beat JBJ, that will be someone at the HW divission dropping to 205, a guy from MW going up seems less possible

Aldo may be the perfect pick if he was a 205 pounder. Great choice!

    He never had a choice.

He said he would rather fight DC when he was renegotiating his contract for the Gus rematch.

He signed to take the Gus rematch, and it was scheduled.

Gus pulled out with an injury, and that's why Jones fought DC.

I believe PosterBoy would beat Anthony Johnson with ease.
