This question seems to never be asked.

All i keep hearing is HW is a weak division and therefore its easy what fighter A did.

So - without naming names -

Fighter A : 9 years unbeaten. 10 years in real life.

16 win streak and a 11 win streak, only split by a NC.

19 HW lineal title defenses.- The baddest man on the planet belt.

Whats the closest anyones come to any of those records at HW?

Cain's records will top Fedor's. He's getting quality matchups without the cans in between.

If we can get Cain to fight Zulu, Hong Man, Bob Sapp, and Pudz for 30 times in a row over the next 5 years, then he will be the official HW Goat. I think it is reasonable.

what did big nog have before fedor took his title? i remember watching his highlights videos way back in the day over and over and beliving he was #1 HW in the world, back around the same time that i thought matt hughes looked like a real life action figure hahaha... that's so long ago i think i had to get those highlights on MIRC.....

what did big nog have before fedor took his title?
14 unbeaten, 13 victories, including submissions of Henderson, Valentijn Overeem, Enson Inoue, Tamura, a Mark Coleman freshly removed from winning the OWGP plus the war with Sapp. Pretty outstanding himself.

Igor by far.
Most definitely.

Fedor is number 2 with Rickson easily number 1 at 400-0.

If you don't count Rickson, than maybe Royce at 11-0.

Outside of a no contest and an asterisk fight - thats 31 straight victories.

Fedor basically had 31 straight victories.

I like Cain, but hes 31 years old and on 4.

Are you high?

He also said no cans so no Japanese fighters on Cain record

Igor had something like a 37 fight unbeaten streak with mostly KO wins against guys with a massive height and weight advantage.

Every single guy fedor ever fought has an entry on wikipedia.

Cant say the same for Cain.

Wikipedia? holy geez.... Why hasn't Dana picked them all up? makes no sense not to have top guys like that

As for current records, Daniel Cormier and Vitaly Minakov are both on 13. Though obviously Cormier is droppin down.

Good grief. Yes Fedor fought a few lesser fighters. But he had cleaned out the division. Beaten the best fighters in the world, some several times, and pretty decisively. What the hell were they supposed to do? Shelf Fedor until someone else became worthy of a title shot?

At the time, Pride's heavyweight's were the best in the world. The Andre Arlovski's and Tim Sylvia's ruled the UFC, neither of whom would have sniffed the pride belt. When he finally fought those two, he made relatively short work of them anyways. I have little doubt he would have beaten Couture at the time either.

Velasquez has fought 2 of the same guys his last 5 fights times now simply because nobody is showing they outright deserve a title shot.

What's next? Cain vs bigfoot 3? Eventually you are going to have to start matching him against less deserving fighters.
