I'll open this up as a p4p debate so it doesn't end up as an argument between Chuvalo and McCall.

As of right now I have Chuvalo, McCall, Hagler, LaMotta and Chavez all in the running with honourary mentions for Ali and Toney.

Even as a p4p debate I'm still kinda partial towards Chuvalo, 90+ bouts without ever being knocked down is an amazing record. Especially when you take into account the fact that he stood toe to toe with some of the most ferocious punchers that ever graced the sport.

Anyways, who do you think has the best chin of all time and who's got the best beard as of right now?

Wayne Mc Cullogh and Randal Tex Cobb also come to mind.

BROCK LESNAR!!!! GREATEST CHIN EVERRRRR!! CARWIN COULDNT KO HIM NOT A PERSON ON THE PLANET CAN!!!! But seriously idk if its the greatest but chris leben has a pretty tough chin

Wesley "Cabbage" Correira - his head is filled with titanium or that shit like wolverines claws, either that or he is a Zombie and only a bullet in his head would stop him, or numerous refs. He has taken bigger harder shots in those small gloves than any boxer

im also impressed with how chuvalo is fine even tho he took those beatings. He dosen't speak with a slur or anything and hes in his 70's.

This guy, without a single doubt in my mind...

WTF is up with the MMMorons. Leben & Cabbage? Those guys wouldn't make it 6 rounds with a solid contender in the boxing ring.

I always thougth P4P, Duran had a hell of a beard. It took a much bigger Tommy Hearns to stop him in the 80's.

Agreed, Duran's chin is definately underrated as a result of his loss to Hearns. Hearns represented the worst possible style match up for Duran. I don't think any other fighter at the weight would have done that to Roberto. At the end of the day he was a natural lightweight who travelled all the way up to middleweight and hung in there with the likes of Hagler and Barkley. That alone says a lot about his chin and toughness.

As far as modern day boxers are concerned, I think Adamek and Hopkins are the stand outs. Honourable mentions to Froch, Vitali Klit, Abraham and Margarito.

This is the boxing forum you clown
My vote goes to Hagler
However, I believe Foreman and Marciano deserve a mention
Foreman fought through 10 rounds of punishment from a heavyweight champ, only to come back with the KO, Marciano honestly looked like most of the shots he took didn't even faze him.

lol what i said was all a joke

Chavalo probably a solid bet for all time... the man took beatings and didn't go down... and even more impressively he seems fine these days... which is a great story in and of itself. I felt bad for the the guy watching "Facing Ali" after the shit his sons went through.

As for these days... it's tough. The standard answers of Tua and Andrade are gone now that they've been dropped (and in Andrade's case... hard). Glen Johnson hasn't been hurt that I can think of since the Hopkins fight in years gone by... and he's just been in a war with Cloud. Despite having been dropped a bunch of times I can't really think of any point where Marquez has been genuinely hurt in his bouts. Froch has another solid chin... his style is made around taking a beating yet he's still to be KO'd.

Tough question.

Marciano walked into his opponents punches almost all the time if you combine that with his ability to recover then i would have a hard time considering anybody elses...

Anybody that can take shot after shot from Foreman and Fraizer like chuvalo has to be right up there for all time best chin.

Current best chin? Vitali has a pretty solid chin, and even though in his last fight he got dropped for the first time, David tua probably still has one of the best currently.
