And will Conor break that record?

I think it might be Randy Couture. He officially announced and hung up the gloves after his second loss to Liddell on Feb 4, 2006, but was fighting 13 months later against Sylvia.

Yes he will be back before christmas easily

unless they strip the belt from him, he's not really retired

Conor is going to shatter that record. He's already retired once and he's only 27. He'll probably end his career with the most retirements in history - yet another record.

He will have to beat Penn for that record I think. I feel like Penn has had 2-3 retirements already.

Randy had at least 2 as well.

Nick has at least threatened it several times.

And the least attempted title defenses. Another record.

Conor will pass them by the time he's 33.

“If Conor McGregor is truly retired, then the belt is vacant. The other thing is that if Conor McGregor is truly retired he would have to take four months off before he could— it would take four months to come back because of USADA. You can’t just say you’re retired and then not have random drug testing for however long you’re out and then decide ‘Oh, well I’m going to come back now’.”

maybe he will break this record since he claimed he was breaking all records in this game
