How do you compare 7 years ago Max with last years max . Also cant lump one sevety or 55 fighters in the same pot as 45 fighters . When they cut to 45 thats what it is not comparabble . Conman should have rematched Aldo but knew the result would never be the same . Money would have been bigger but UFC did not want to take a chance him losing to a champ that did not even speak english. thats why Aldo never got a rematch .

the guy that didn’t get KO in 13 seconds and then got TKO by Max Holloway twice. Conor destroyed the FW division he didn’t even need to defend cause there was no one worthy of fighting him.

Max Holloway has mutiple UFC fights and has just lost a very close split decision to Dennis Bermudez. He couldn’t do shit to Conor cause his style was too much for him, even if they fought in 2016 he would’ve beat max with ease again cause max isn’t a grappler like Mendes or Khabib.
 
If beating Aldo makes you better, then Holloway (who finished Aldo twice) > Conor (who finished Aldo once).

Nate Diaz isn't a grappler, he beat Conor just fine.
 
To me, Conor is just the best fighter at FW ever. His run was a short one but a spectacular one aswell. He literally has the best wins at FW ever [and they were finishes].

Aldo reigned longer, and that counts for a lot, but who is truly favoured against Conor at FW? He has a stupid high finish rate at the weightclass.

Depends on what you value.

You can make the argument either way.

Aldo has longer success in the cage, but Conor likely came out with more fame, glory and money.

The mileage on these guys is probably similar.
 
I will never understand how a fighter who in their prime lost to Nate Diaz and whos best win after Aldo is propably Eddie fcking Alvarez and who hasnt defended a single time can be percieved as one of the greatest.
 
Zero title defenses. Has been beat by complete nobody's like Joe Duffy and Nate Diaz. he had loaded gloves on when he KOed Aldo.

Aldo legacy has taken a bit of a hit with his recent losses his 10 year undefeated run in more impressive.

Aldo, and it's not really close.

He has almost as many wins in UFC TITLE (!) FIGHTS as Conor has wins in the UFC altogether... if you count WEC, these two numbers are equal...

(+ undefeated for almost a decade, while prime Conor was finished by Nate Diaz...)
