The whole decline of Chris Weidman reminds me of Karo Parisyan who had the MMA world by the balls. He was a top contender and had the fight of year vs Diego Sanchez. Afterwards he was on a 3 fight winning streak until his loss to Alves which was the beginning of end in terms of everything going to shit.

Now I am wondering, who had it worse, Weidman who was a world champion that lost his title and went on a losing streak or Karo who was a top contender for the longest time and ended up losing his effectiveness to anxiety and panic attacks?

Karo, bro - do you even know who he is?

Wait, Karo had the MMA world by the balls?!?! When the hell was this, I obviously missed it somehow.

I would say whoever received the most death threats on social media has had it worse.

I'd have to know what Karo's relationship with his father is like before I could comment. Is he still his boy?

Karo for sure

at least The Chris is still his fathers boy and I haven't heard on official statement from Karo's dad on that topic

"Karo had the MMA world by the balls" lmao. Where is Karo did he overcome his anxiety? Dude fell off the face of the Earth.

What? Chris was 4 time MW Champion.

Not even close. Karo was popular but didn't accomplish what Chris did. MMA as a sport caught up with Karo and his Judo wasn't enough to win him fights over everyone like back in the day. Chris' fall was worse because he was the first man to take it to Silva and went on to beat Machida and Vitor. Also there's the argument that in a rematch Weidman would have a good chance of winning against the people he had lost to. Especially in the Romero and Moose fight he was winning until he lost. A quick moment in the fight and he went from winning fairly clearly to losing the fight. The Rockhold fight you could say would have ended the same even if he didn't throw that dumb spinning kick but Chris went from being the man to being seen as a cry baby by MMA fans.

One was a former world champ who feel off.

The other was a former contender who feel off.

I don't know if it's obvious, but you tell me who you think feel off worse...

They had a great relationship, Karo considered his father a hero and they were very close together. Sadly, his dad passed away little over a year ago.

Weidman. He was severely abused as a child. Karo was just an opiate addict.

Karo is a sad case. Was supposed to fight Hughes for the belt at UFC 56 before he got injured and replaced by Riggs (Who missed weight). It was all downhill from there.

Karo was a bad matchup for Hughes, I think he would have won. Hughes didn't have the scrambling ability that Diego had.

he never came close to reaching Weidman's heights, also he had a pill problem if I recall correctly

"Hughes didn't have the scrambling ability that Diego had." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......STOP IT!

Vitor all of a sudden needs a medical exemption to bring his dog to open workouts to deal with his anxiety disorder and nobody talks about it. Karo quits the sport due to his anxiety disorder and nobody talks about it. WHY?

Bigger fall off would be Paulo Filho who let drugs turn him into a schizophrenic

You have to be on top of something to fall off. The only cool thing Filho ever did was choke out a vicious pitbull, slung it over his back, and walked away. He was always crazy.
