Fedor ran from the entire UFC when they're HW division got really strong for a while. The UFC was going to pay him more money than any fighter in UFC history, and he wanted nothing to do with Brock who was smashing dudes at the time. There was also Carwin and Cain that were crushing dudes on their way up.

Anderson ran from Sonnen for a long time. Especially before the 2nd fight. DW even stated that it took like 3 months to get Anderson to address the fight with him, and they had to force him in a room. Anderson didn't like the idea of fighting a guy who could take him down and control him. Anderson tried to duck Vitor when they fought as well, and used the whole Brazilians shouldn't fight each other routine, and the UFC pretty much and to force his hand there, even though he won in an impressive fashion. The worst was when he ducked Weidman for an entire year even taking a freak show fight with Bonnar who had just turned 40 and was thinking about retirement. What a slapstick match up that was. Might as well had been a WWE fight when Weidman was begging and begging to get his chance. Looking at that in hind sight now, boy was that pathetic that Weidman had to go through all of that just to beat Anderson when he could have won the entire time.

Aldo tried to duck Pettis when DW tried to set up that fight at first. Took Aldo like 3 months to finally agree to that, and DW said multiple times that Aldo and his camp wouldn't entertain the idea of Pettis getting that shot. He finally agreed when the UFC wouldn't let him fight Lamas instead. He then tried to duck Mendes the 2nd time, and screamed for Lamas the entire time. He got his wish and Lamas got the shot eventually, because Aldo knew it was an easy win for him. Unfortunately for him, Mendes kept winning, and he had to fight Mendes a 2nd time. He won based on the judges. He had also pulled out of the original fight with Mendes due to injury of course, hoping that someone else would beat Mendes for him. Then came Connor, and Aldo kept acting like Connor was way to disrespectful for him to get the title shot during the world tour even though he had agreed to it. He even tally pulls out again due to some rib injury that he was cleared for, and Connor becomes the new champion.

Guys like Penn, Cain, Weidman, Frankie, and GSP fought all comers. Guys truly carried themselves like warriors and what a belt holder should be.

The UFC should have a rule that a belt holder should be willing to defend their belt at least three times a year. That is the whole point of having the belt to show that you are the best and will fight anybody.

My vote goes to Anderson for king ducker though. Making Weidman wait an entire year was the most ridiculous thing I have seen from any belt holder.

Ridiculous. Strikeforce's HW division was just as strong as the UFC's. Carwin? Carwin has 1 career top 10 win (against Mir)

Ts is a shit bird

Edit: nevermind. you support BJ. You're enlightened af

SF's HW div was better than UFC's.

Everyone knows that.

Ban worthy

Is orange belt the highest you've made it before? Such a shame

Aldo really ducked those guys, whose asses, he whooped. Also, lol at Conor being the "new champion". Aldo beats Mendes 2x, "Aldo's a pussy". McGregor beats Mendes 1x, "Yeah, McGreGOAT, new champion!" Utter garbage.

Brock
Cain (was an up and comer and got rocked multiple times by Kongo. No one knew how good he was at the time)
JDS
Mir
Nog (was on his way out)
Carwin

vs

Fedor
Werdum
Overeem
Arlovski
Sergei
Barnett
Cormier (up and comer at the time)
Bigfoot

Yep...the Strikeforce HW division was pretty stacked

Really? Yeah, because everyone was saying that at the time right? Lol!

NO ONE Said that at the time, and that is laughable as hell. None of those dudes were going to beat Brock at the time or Cain. JDS was smashing everyone on the feet. All SF really had was Big Foot who has never been anything special, and Werdum who wasn't nearly as good as he has gotten over the last 3 years.

Carwin's career may have ended fast, but he was scaring a lot of people at the time with the power in his hands. Unfortunately he started MMA late and injuries caught up to his age.

I actually said it at the time. Look it up

No one was going to beat Brock at that time? Overeem beat him in his 1st fight in the UFC. Btcok was a good wrestler. He was very beatable (for top guys at the time

There were actually more top guys in Strikeforce at the time.

Brock
Cain (was an up and comer and got rocked multiple times by Kongo. No one knew how good he was at the time)
JDS
Mir
Nog (was on his way out)

Bringing up that Cain got rocked in a fight that he dominated is one of the dumbest things people try brining up to somehow diminish the dominance that Cain has had in the history of the HW division. HE WON THE DAMN FIGHT, and won every round. Why is it that two shots he took early in his career somehow are always brought up by Cain haters? LoL! Oh he got rocked by Kongo, but still won that fight and every other fight for the next 5 years until he finally lost.

Just posting to add that it was Ubereem and TRT Bigfoot.

Very hard to say that Fedor was running from the better roster.

Pride's HW division and SF's division was much better than UFC's at the time.
He also faced Sylvia and Arlovsky and was scheduled to face Barnett.

Now that the UFC has a stronger division than ever he has expressed his desire to fight there.

Fedor has ducked no one. Don't be a Dana's stupid zombie.

I'm not a Cain hater smart guy. I am just pointing out that no one knew how good he was a the time because he got rocked multiple times by Kongo and it was early in his career. That was my whole point genius.

5 years? He lost 2 years after the Kongo fight to JDS

Actually, many (including me) were saying that at the time.

Fedor ducked no one
Anderson ducked Shogun & Jones
Georges ducked Silva and Hendricks rematch
Aldo has ducked no one. He was going to fight Pettis who is more dangerous than McGregor.
