Who does Bellator/Coker want to win tomorrow Koreshkov or Bendo?

I'm curious on fights like:

Bendo/Koreshkov
Phil Davis/Liam

Who the company would rather win. Do they want the Bellator home grown guys to smash them to add legitimacy to what they've been doing or do they want the UFC crossovers to win because they paid them a lot of money and have more viewers who know who they are?
 
It's got to be Bendo. If it were some young marketable guy it may be different but Andrey doesn't speak English, isn't a big talker. Benson is a good face for the company, plus if he loses right away its hard to build that back up.

When Fitch lost right off the bat. It killed off his momentum. Think they'd rather be paying Benson a Shit ton to be a star.

If it were Benson vs a Michael Chandler I think they may be more in favor of him cause he could use the push to become a bigger star than a Andrey can.
 
one is a bigger star, the other will prove that bellators elite are in fact elite.. Doesnt really matter as kimo said I think its a win/win

The thing they have going for them if Koreshkov wins, is Bendo is in a position to blame the new weight class out and he can reclaim his momentum out at 155lbs if need be.

But you are right the champs inability to speak English probably has them rooting for Benson.

Phil has to beat Mo first, we will see what happens with that
 
Henderson for sure, they will make him a star.

mo has looked like shit lately. and doesn't seem to be much of a company player. phil will represent well. I expect a ud by mr davis.

along with that I agree that the would not have coughed up the dough to not want bendo to succeed. Ill be watching. bendo always seems like a good guy and is always ready to fight. toothpick or not.
 
It has to be benson. They are probably hoping for a benson victory, then they will probably have him fight ward(if he wins) in that Asia card Coker spoke about.

I'm almost certain it's going to take place in South Korea.
 
Of course they want Bendo to win, they just paid him a rumored 250=300k per fight, he's one of their biggest signings if not the biggest. They are counting on him to bring in big ratings for them.

Koreshkov is good but he's a nobody, lets just be real about it. Bendo as champ opens up bigger drawing fights, vs LW like Chandler, WW like Daley, MVP.
 
Bellator needs Bendo to win.

Askren's relevance hinges on being the lineal bellator champ. Having Koreshkov as their WW champ doesn't help them with the legitimacy of their title outside the UFC since their WW champ holds a loss to askren.

If Bendo becomes champ they can say the WW title outside the ufc is back in dispute again
 
Obviously the fighter that they paid boatloads of money for because of his success in the major leagues?
 
outcome 1: If Bendo wins - Fight against Daley
- Superfight with Brooks


outcome 2: If Bendo loses - Fight against Brooks or
Thompson or Chandler
- potentially two loses in a Row to bellator
guys

After writting it down I think the second outcome is actually better

The best outcome for bellator is to get good fights out of Bendo and for him to to increase ratings but also for him to make thier champs legit

The worst case scenario I think is if he captures LW/WW belts and derails Daley's hype because then he will have all the power and Bellator will look really bad with a UFC gatekeeper ruling their divisions plus he could just walkout on them and leave them looking really bad

I think he was bought in to increase ratings and legitimize Bellator rather than to dominate
 
i think the promoters think lses about this kinda thing than most people would assume. but id say i think they lean towards wanting bendo to win as that sets up a lw title shot nicely, and i think they lean towards mcgeary because he's kind of a home grown champ while phil davis isnt really a fan favorite. as for koreshkov, only the hardcores even know his name.

Its not gonna be vs Brooks unless he signs a new deal, his contract will expire in July and it looks like Bellator is just gonna sit him and not give him another fight.

If he leaves they can do Chandler/Josh vs Bendo for vacant LW title if they want but my guess is if Brooks leaves and Bendo wins WW title they will let Chandler/Josh winner fight someone else for the title.

Then after maybe if Bendo defends WW belt they'd look to do a super fight down the road and let Bendo try for two belts.

If Bendo loses WW title fight I think he'll drop to LW and fight Chandler/Josh for the belt.
 
Can anyone else say they're watching vs wouldn't watch otherwise?

With the signing of Bendo, it has in fact gotten my view for the show. So there's 1 person he brought in.
