Kinda dove into this in the other thread, Daniel Craig seems like he couldn't care less about promoting Specter. Although he's signed to do one more film, but if he proves too much of a pain in the ass, they could just look for another actor.

So... who'd you like to see as the new James Bond?

My top 3...

Benedict Cumberbatch. This guy should either play Bond, or play a Bond villian.

Michael Fassbender. He undoubtedly could bring a new level of performance in Bond's performance.

Tom Hardy. Always thought he could be a brawler-type for Bond.

Homeland star Damian Lewis is set to become the next James Bond in place of Daniel Craig. Lewis has been given “an unofficial nod” that he is the first choice if Craig quits the 007 movie role. Craig, 47, has hinted he is ready to step down after the release of Spectre, his fourth Bond film, in November.

Luther star Idris Elba has long been tipped as Craig’s successor, making him the first black Bond. But the Sunday Mirror has learned Lewis is in prime position to play the iconic British secret agent. I've always thought Elba would be a great Bond. I think he pulls off the suave/bad ass well although he might be a bit too old unless he does just one or two films. Cavill is another good choice but I think too many people see him as Superman first. The role might end up going to a relative unknown.

If Adris is the best actor available for the role, he should get the role.

If he's offered the role because of the color of his skin, it's an insult to him, shows the priorities of the casting directors, and isn't true to the character of James Bond.

Bond's race is pretty much irrelevant. There's nothing in the recent movies that requires him to be white in order for it to succeed logically. There are black people in Scotland.

Also...it's fiction. You can change everything about Bond with zero repercussions because it's make-believe. They sent Bond into fucking space, made him Australian, gave him an invisible car, and made Denise Richards a nuclear physicist. The list of things that is sacrosanct about the Bond universe is much shorter than the list of things that isn't. His race is definitely in the latter.

I think Tom Hardy would be fun.

He can act, but he looks like he just got finished making out with a deep fat fryer. I don't care for his look.

My pick for an unconventional Bond wouldn't work anymore due to his age (52), and also due to the fact that he had a recurring role in Bond movies, but Colin Salmon would have rocked the shit out of that role.

That said, he's in an episode of Master of None, and he looks fantastic for his age and could probably do one movie, though not likely more.
