Do you guys feel athletes should get the lions share of the revenues, or should the UFC get the lion share and distribute according to however they want.

I think fighters and athletes should always get the bulk of the pay.

The reason being is because without fighters, there would be no MMA. But without dana, there are another 1000 business men that could do his job.

The UFC would be unsustainable if the fighters got the "lions share" of the revenues.

Those who take the financial risks of putting on the shows, and the risk of losses when events fall through or don't sell. Those are the owners, generally. Athletes deserve to be paid fairly. But they are not in the position of losing their own money if things don't go well.

What other jobs/companies where employees make more than the owners? Look at Affliction

The UFC does. If an event loses money, the fighters still get paid. The UFC has all of the financial risk. They deserve most of the financial reward.

There are literally 100,000,000+ men that could step into a cage and fight. The fighters as a whole are indispensable, but no one fighter comes close, and certainly is more disposable than the CEO or President. Would that large group of men be better suited than the people in the UFC? Some of them, surely, but not many. Similarly, there may be people that could also do Dana's job, but they are getting paid a lot of money doing something else right now so it's really a wash. People that could fight are getting paid a lot LESS elsewhere probably, but with fewer health risks. It's simply a fact of life that the people that organize and make things happen get the lion's share of the profits, while the people that work for them make less.

You say there are a thousand other men who can do what Dana does yet everyone in other organizations either gets fired or their org gets sold

    Come on man
There were MMA fighters before Dana took over & none of the thousands of businessmen made UFC succesful.
Dana convinces Fertitta's to let him run UFC & MMA & UFC explodes to heights nobody ever thought of.

Dana can be a dick, but it is silly & asinine not to give him the credit he deserves.
    The proof is obvious

EDIT: Dana's mix of 'MMA love' & 'balls' combined with Fertitta's business skills is what made the difference

Then why are nfl athletes paid so well percentage-wise of what their teams make? Players get the lion share of the pay of their organization.

Also, using YOU (1 person) vs the entire staff's pay vs the boss' pay. If you work at a company with 100 people, if you add the salaries of 99 of the workers vs the boss, the workers make more money combined. If you add all the fighters salary per event vs what dana makes at an event it is completely 1 sided.

Your example is as dumb and simple minded as it gets.

I think dana and co get way too much credit for taking a sport that had a fan base that was waiting for someone to take it to the next level. But the fertittas and dana only saw potential money.

If donald trump bought the UFC and hired some guys to run it, the result would be the same. There was already public interest in the sport.

If the company wouldn't fail without you, its profits cannot be attributed to you. You could cut half the UFC roster and it would be just fine, so clearly they're not responsible for the UFC's profits.

You don't know MMA history at all ... no offense man

Trump was part of Affliction (did you know that?) & MMA was about to be dead in the states (fan base was dying)

History proves you are incorrect. There isn't even a debate.
All others failed in the short & long run
One company was 90% dead in the water & revived
Hate on Dana for being a dick, but he deserves a shitload of credit too

Then why are the combined salaries of an NFL team more than the owners? An owner makes like 20 million a year off the games. The athletes on the team make like 30 million. In the early days of the nfl it was ran like the UFC, guys got paid crap and risked their health while the owners kept the big bucks. That all changed and the NFL is bigger than ever. Because of the money paid to players, the talent went thru the roof and the sport is highly respected.

My father in law who doesnt know much bout mma asked me how much "these guys" get paid. I said some 10k and some 20k. He said why dont they just get regular jobs lol.

in team sports players benefit from competition for players within the league and they use collective bargaining to strengthen their position, neither of these things happen in mma

Huh? So finding the Conors, Rouseys, Bones, GSPs and Andersons are easier than finding someone to do whatever dana does? Answer a few questions and decide who fights.

You guys are idiots. Dana whites job is not that hard. Stop thinking just because he's wealthy he does so much extraordinary work. Some people are given opportunies and they run with it.
