The general consensus when making a GOAT list in MMA is that the following guys are in the top 4 in many different variations of order.
Jon Jones, Fedor Emelianenko, Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre.
You also tend to have Jose Aldo sneak in at the 5th spot on most lists, but you do have cases where he isn't in the top 5 and he's replaced with Henderson or Nogueira.
What I want to establish is who are "the rest" of the top 10, seeming as top 10's tend to be what we do in life.
My personal opinion would probably be the below:
Dan Henderson
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
BJ Penn
Randy Couture
Shogun Rua (this pick was very tough).
I think the likes of Liddell, W. Silva, Jackson, Hughes, Barnett, Cruz and Werdum all have an argument for this top 10 spot, but I think Shogun has done just a smidgen more than most of them in terms of resume.
