What I mean by that is, for example, when Akiyama, a world class Judoka, won his matches, he would at times express that Judo is strong.
When Machida won his title, I think or defended it, he expressed that Karate is back, which was in my opinion one of the coolest moment that I witnessed.
Khabib, from Sambo background, was seen wearing one of the t-shirt that said "If Sambo was easy, it would be called Jujitsu", and Khabib and Fedor both have a very strong pride in their background in their Russian Martial arts.
Gracies of course is also quite proud individuals in their heritage and martial arts.
I can't really recall especially someone that stands out who really articulated their pride and love for their wrestling background in public.
If they did so, when and who?
