This weekend we have a monstrous fight for the Mw Title. Ive been racking my brain over this match trying to figure out what the xfactor will be in this rematch and i believe i figured it out, while watching the countdown show and there previous encounter.

I believe the. Xfactor in this rematch will be Whittakers speed, he looks phemonally fast lately and Romeros plodding & suddent explosion style leaves him open to being outworked and caught by the faster whittaker

I say whittaker by TKO 3rd or 4th round.

For reference and viewing pleasure.Im pretty excited hope everyone makea weight..cough cough romero cough

Looking forward to this fight IMMENSELY!

Hoping Bobby Knuckles beat the shit out of that Romero Douchebag guy.

Romero's been improving in all his fights and he showed good pace and cardio against Rockhold. This fights a tossup for me but I'll be rooting for the Cuban Missile!

I hope Romero wins this one because he is not going to be younger he will wake up one day and lose all his strength movement and motivation just don't know is God punishing him for taking steroids and don't give him luck in fight to win

Agree, Whittaker TKO/KO in the 3rd or 4th round.

Will likely win the early rounds anyway but if Yoel gasses he will be finished.

Good post TS.

I'll say Whittaker's kicks are the X factor.

Lately? His last fight was against yoel and he didn't seem faster. They seemed to be fairly even there.

Youe confusing explosiveness (romero) and speed (Whittaker)
Look at the countdown footage and the two camps video posts leading into thia fight..whittaker looks very quick

Romero not coasting the last 3 rounds is going to make a big difference, unless he decides to coast the later rounds

It is a close match up and thats y ive been racking my brain to figure out who and what the xfactor is going to be this time around..i originally was thinking Romero would finally use his wrestling full out as an xfactor and put on a potential khabib style performance agaisnt Whittaker but whittaker just seems to fast and scrambles very well when taken down...

I agree with your assessment, TS, Whittaker does look quite fast. I'm expecting him to take a UD. I think Romero will be a little too patient, and Bobby Knuckles will take the initiative and momentum in the stand-up. As long as his scrambling and TDD holds up like it did the first time around, things look good for him.

I have it from a not-credible-at-all source that Romero was upwards of 220 lbs. only a day or two ago.

If true, he may be looking at a very rough weight cut which may well impact his performance.

The x factor is Yoel's savage 1 shot ko power, if that lands he wins if not, Robert beats him up worse than last time and probably finishes. I like Robert's chances here he got great instincts and a good chin.

Bobby will unleash them knuckles!!! But this should be a close one... until the 5th.

Yoel looks like he added shitton of moves to his arsenal. People severely underrate Yoel's striking.
If Yoel stays calm and sees what is coming, sees Whittaker coming in, he can do counters like he did to Brad with that elbow, or have a knee ready. Yoel traded very well with Whittaker in the 5th despite being absolutely gassed from constantly shooting the TDs before it, and I attribute that to him deciding to stand with Whittaker in the 5th then. I believe Yoel will have much more success standing now, until he finally catches him like he caught so many people before.

If Yoel does miss weight, I’m not sure Rob is that keen to take the fight and nor should he have to.

I suspect the same..if he misses no way he fights him..i wouldn't in his shoes..enough is enough with people gaming the system

I agree TS. I said it for the first fight when so many were siding with Romero because of his showcase explosive power... which is no doubt impressive. But when that's your main weapon and you find yourself up against a dude who fights smart enough to avoid those power punches with far superior cardio you soon find yourself in very deep water getting out-worked, out-gassed and out-played.

I don't doubt Romero has worked on his cardio and long-term stamina since the last fight and will look to employ a more patient game plan this time around, but I feel Whittaker has his number and this outing will play out much the same as the last. After all, a guy with a dense muscular frame the likes of Romero can train cardio solid the whole fight camp if he wants, but his body type (a smaller frame supporting heavier muscle mass) surely cannot allow him to compete on the same field as a slimmer, leaner version of 185lbs.
