You can't have watched much mma. That round was absolutely nowhere near a 10-7, Yoel took most of the round off as usual.

I'm not so much in all those "robbery" topics, but I think Yoel won. I love Rob, I wanted him to win, but being rocked 3 times, and Yoel not evenv clearly hurt (yes he had a swollen eye, but everyone saw it was caused by a timed jab, you can't say it's the same thing that Rob receive. Rob was in deeeep waters at least 2 times, so close to be finished, and he won. That's utterly stupid.

We must get rid of that stupid scoring system, I miss the PRIDE days so much sometimes...

he ducked the whole what top 5 MWs and in the process got Moose his walking papers Yoel is just one of the names nothing more.
 
Kind of reminded me of the second Bisping/Hendo fight where Dan kept knocking Bisping down, but still lost the fight.

To what extent does being "rocked" and dropped contribute to winning the fight?

He didn't take anywhere near the amount of damage he took against Thompson here. Thompson did better to finish but Yoel rocked Rob bad on multiple occasions and is a much more damaging puncher than Wonderboy.

Rob's chin and recovery was obviously compromised from his weight cuts. You don't go from getting rocked by Colton Smith to surviving Romero bombs just through luck and experience.

Not out of the question that he comes back fine but the history of combat sports is littered with guys who won a fight but were never the same afterwards. It's my opinion that the sustained beating he took from a monstrous puncher in Yoel was the type of beating that could have lingering effects.

And who cares what these other dishonest people think, Romero was the better fighter last night and deserved the victory. At worst, a draw.
 
Insane fight. thanks for the gifs. Was a real war those later rounds.

Yoel had him multiple times. Just could not close the door and get the finish. Some tough as nails dudes we watched last night. With chins of pure granite.

The early rounds Yoel did nothing. If he would have been a tiny bit more active , I think he would have solidified a victory. He only really went into desperation overdrive mode when his eye started to swell shut though. Before then he did not do much but wait for a few power bombs.
